View Full Version : Charlotte Knights or Chicago White Sox in game 3?

In game one of the series Ozzie played the Charlotte Knights in an attempt to rest the hang-over boys. Game two it was about half and half. One side of me thinks that the Charlotte Knights need to finish the season to prevent freak injuries, but the other side wants the A-team to crush the toons. I've decided the A-team needs to play spoiler and keep the racist toons out of the dance.

"Since we already won the series, let's give Cotts the start."

A mix again would be good. Herd Joe Torre say he would rest players. If Ozzie would say this he would hear it from all the baseball gods out east. Impotant thing is lets be in stride for the playoffs.

I think we should start everyone, but after the 6th inning or 2 at bats, put the knights in.

Play em...and send a message to the Toons. Next time I want to see them will be next season. If we win, we can assure ourselves of that. (and of opening the playoffs vs Boston, not Anaheim)

Monday is an off day, and this is the last tune up for the playoffs.

Give 'em the real stuff.

Play 'em, and steal bases even if leading 8-0. Rub it in.

I'd wouldn't mind seeing the Knight's pitching staff out there after the 5th inning.

If Cleveland wins and Red Sox loose, the White Sox host the Angels - correct? So, this game is important from the stand point of who the Sox play in the 1st round.

Starting 9, no question.

I have no qualms kicking the Jndjans while they're down.

Wrong. The Red Sox would then host Cleveland in a one-game playoff Monday to see who gets the Wild Card. The Red Sox control their own destiny here, and they will take it (hopefully).

I say play the Charlotte team. Not to be cocky, but if BMac pitches like he has lately, our "D" team may win anyway. Now, wouldn't that be sweet? :gulp:

I say the entire Charlotte team, or half and half. If we lose this game, and the Red Sox lose theirs, but then beat the Wahoos in the one game playoff, that might really help our chances in the divisional series.

As the Red Sox haven't had a single day off in ages...and would coming into their series with us without our obvious beneficial day off.:redneck

Of course, I wouldn't mind sending the Wahoos home, outright, tomorrow afternoon!

Put the starting nine in. If Cleveland wants it, make 'em fight, scream, and claw for it.

I dont want to see them again until April 3, 2006.

Give the 1st team a rest. Use them as pinch hitters. GO SOX!

Here's the BEST reason for clobbering Cleveland this afternoon: it takes 100 percent of the guess work out of who the Sox play on Tuesday.

They've already played 161 games and they have Monday off regardless. Do you people honestly think one game makes any difference? Go for the throat and get this damned thing over with.

Be a winner by playing the part.

Speaking of 2006, the White Sox finish '06 with 3 in Cleveland; 3 in Minnesota. Make your travel arrangements now.

I would like to see the Toons sent home at the hands of the Sox. This would guarantee that we wouldn't have to face the hot Angels in the first round. I like the idea of facing the Red Sox after they used their best pitcher and off-day to play the Tribe, but there is a chance that the Red Sox would lose, and then we'd get stuck with the Angels. I think we're better off facing them in round 2.

Play the starters today Oz. They've got us all this way and now have a chance to knock the Tribe out of the playoffs and play the Red Sox in the first round, who I'd be much more comfortable with than the Angels. Also PaleHoseGeorge made a good point. If the Sox win today they won't be guessing who they're going to play until that playoff game is over tomorrow. It gives them more time tomorrow to scheme the pitching rotation, the whole playoff roster, and the pitchers they'll be facing.

the lineup is the "A" team. Everett batting 5th. BM pitching.

I'd go with our regular line up, with one exception- I'd give Scott Podsednik another day off. Three days off in a row before the playoffs = fresh legs.

If there are any guys that are going to "audition" a little more for spots on the playoff roster, play them...if not, give some guys some guys 5-6 innings and then sub in. If we build up a decent lead, get some guys in.
