View Full Version : biggest win of the year

Another thing I didn't want to post until the division was in hand.

It is my opinion that game 2 of the Indians series last week was THE game of
the year, with Crede's home run being the offensive play and Uribe's 7th
inning stab and throw the defensive play of the year. I mean, it is the
difference between Cleveland leaving town .5 out or 2.5 out. That difference
was much larger than a lot of people realize. So they may have lost 2 of 3 in
that series, but the one win will stand out as the hugest. If the game had
been between the Yankees and Red Sox, the sports media literati would
have fainted and screamed that was a worthy successor to games involving
Ted, Joe, Babe, Mickey, Carl, Bucky and Derek.

Because it was late in the year and against a team that was 28-3 in their last 31 at that point, I would say yeah that was huge W.

Early in the season, when they beat KC in the ninth without getting a hit. That set the tone for the entire season, don't make it pretty, just win baby.

I think the Sunday win over the Yanks and Randy Johnson might have been the biggest. At home, in the midst of a losing streak, and against a hall of famer who was looking great. 4 HR's in an inning and we all knew these Sox weren't done.
