2:30 class, I held out as long as I could, but ended up leaving in the 8th inning

Trust me, I thought about it the entire class

Typical White Sox fashion, clinching it in the middle of a weekday

I snuck a radio into my math and spanish class. I turned it off for the bottom of the ninth because I had to take a spanish test, but I turned it on just in time to here John conlude the broadcast proclaiming the Sox the chapions.

I was in my classroom listening to the game on a portable radio underneath my desk... until the janitor told me to come into the school's classroom-turned "t.v. studio" that has Comcast. I left my classroom with 1 on in the bottom of the 9th and made it down there to see the final 3 outs! When they won it, I went down to see the only other Sox fan teacher in the building to share the good news with her and she gave me a huge hug- right in the middle of her teaching! Not the best of scenarios, but I'll take it!

In my living room. Alone. Which is just how I wanted it--just in case. I could've gone to a sports bar, but I didn't trust my ability to control my emotions. At home, if I broke something, it would have been something of mine. Throwing a beer stein through a big screen TV at a bar would've been a different matter entirely.

We have tvs and cable in each room. I was giving a test during 7/8 (when the game started). I turned the TV on with no sound. Then 9th was my planning, so I left the volume low while I made a bunch of phone calls to parents, then 10th is 'Activity' (the luxuries of a Behavior Disorder room), and our activity today was watching the game.

So I was able to watch pretty much the entire game at work. And I am still here for the alternative night program. I need to go out and hit a bar or two.:gulp:

I watched the whole game up until the 9th inning. I was hoping it would be a fast game, but it slowed down just enough that I couldn't stick around for the 9th because I had to go to school and meet someone at 2:30.

A big "thank you" to Cat Thief for keeping me updated during the last inning of the game with text messaging. At my house, with my wife; I'm on vacation (I planned it so I was off during the playoffs), so I had MLB-TV.com on the computer for the Hawk & DJ feed, and ESPN on in the living room. As soon as the Sox won on ESPN, I rushed into my home office to catch the game winning call on the MLB-TV feed (thank God for the two-pitch delay). There was no way I was going to miss Hawk's play-by-play of the final out. My wife and I applauded and hugged. I had pizza and snacks, but no beer until later tonight (I still had a run to do).
I've been a baseball fan for fifteen years, and a White Sox fan for that entire time. I'll never forget this clincher!
Thanks to all of you on this site for making this a memorable season; I've learned a lot, and you've all made the wins more satisfying and the losses more bearable!

When Konerko caught the liner, I was in my boss' office watching the game with him since he's also a Sox fan. I then went to my bigger boss' office to watch the postgame fiesta when he told me he had an extra ticket for Game 1 if I were interested.

In the immortal words of Hawk, "Uh, yeah."

I also had to endure some ribbing from a co-worker who's a Cub fan and lives near Wrigley. He told me the Sox would go three and out. I asked him how finishing as an also-ran in the NL Central felt before giving him a one-finger salute.

I was at work. I kept following the game on my cell phone's browser. It turns out that the cell phone browser was behind real time. My cellphone was behind real time, so I walked into the stockroom of where I work thinking we were in the 8th inning. But upon entering the stockroom, the radio tuned to WSCR-AM (670) had George Ofman saying "the White Sox are jumping up and down." It was then, I knew we won.

I promptly took a break and walked to a nearby restaurant where I saw part of the locker room celebration taking place. I then walked to my employee lounge where I flipped between WGN-Channel 9 and WFLD-Channel 32, who were covering the postgame live. WBBM-Channel 2, WMAQ-Channel 5, and WLS-Channel, respectively, evidently felt that "Judge Judy," "Passions," and "General Hospital" were more important.

I worked the rest of my shift until 8:00 p.m. I then promptly came here (home), and have been drinking champagne ever since. Hopefully, I'm not too hungover to drive to Grandstand Friday and get one of those caps and shirts.

I saw the first 7 1/2 innings on TV then had to leave for work. ESPN radio in Denver wasn't carrying the game so I had to listen for updates. The guy covering the game at the park came on and said "The White Sox WERE on their way to winning the American League Central. They were leading 4-2 when the Tigers put 2 runners on in the bottom of the ninth for Placido Polanco." He said WERE so the horror of a three run homer and another loss swept through my mind. Then they played John Rooney's call of the line drive to Paulie. I could have killed that reporter. He doesn't realize what all of us have been through the last few weeks to do something like that.

I was at work. My boss was out of town, so I turned the tv on in his office and had the game on the whole time. I kept going in there and watching it every few minutes. I have lunch from 2 to 3, so I was able to watch the end of the game and a lot of the post-game celebration. Boy, I really wished I were there. (Even though I don't have playoff tickets, I hope the next Sox clincher will be at home.) There are a lot of Sox fans at work so there were a lot of happy people in the office today. But, I think I was the happiest!!!:D:

In the bar with 40 other Sox fans on their feet.

I was with Santo.

Santo, did I meet you? '83 Sox hat on, and I was the one stupid enough to wear a leather jacket to the bar. I was kind of near the back of the big congregation of bar stools. That was fun.

I started making scarambled eggs right before the bottom of the 9th. My little girl doesn't always eat when she is supposed to, so when she said she wanted some I rushed in to make them. I was taking them out of the pan when Crede made his error. I had Brooklynne in my arms and we were cheering them on for the final out. Glad I got to share it with her.

Was watching in a computer lab on campus on mlb.tv - for whatever reason it was not blacked out. I'll take it.

At least 5 other people were doing the same thing as me, too... mostly on gamecast or whatever... I knew first b/c despite the delay I had the WSI Gamethread up.

I was behind the Sox dugout with 200 crazy White Sox fans going nuts when Konerko snagged the final out. Jerry and Kenny came down and sat behind the dugout with us the final inning (so they could go on the field). When Joe dropped the ball Jerry grabbed his hair and lowered his head in shock / fear. All was OK shortly thereafter. Kenny Williams was high fiving everyone and Jerry was too / shaking everyones hands. Kenny went to the field about a minute later to greet / congratulate each and every White Sox player. Jerry made his way to the field soon after and hugged Ozzie.

White Sox Army was out in force today and everyone had a great time.

Glad many of you were able to catch it as well.

Go White Sox!!!

You know what's sort of sad- Eddie Einhorn was there too...and nobody really knew who he was. At one point, he put his fist in the air when he was looking at the crowd to try to get a big response, and nobody responded. It was good to see him there though...glad he's healthy and everything.

Actually I noticed him on the field. I was never a big fan of the "Sunshine Boys" but Jerry has grown on me over the years and I am glad I was able to shake his hand and congratulate him after the game. Kenny was on Cloud 9 - He went through hell this month with the idiotic press.

Eddie has been in hiding for a long time - much to do with his illness recently - and I am glad he was on hand as well to enjoy the celebration. Einhorn looks very different from when he first came to Chicago. Jerry has looked the same for 25 years and is the public face of the White Sox partners so I think that is why everyone recognized him.

Glad you were able to go to the game as well - it was my first clincher.

I was in our school's auditorium. It was a half day for students so the faculty was having a meeting. I had my earphone plug discreetly placed in one ear. All the sox fan teachers were sitting by me. When Konerko caught the final out I couldn't help but blurt out, "Sox win! Sox win." Many people started cheering. Someone said, "throw the guy out." Must have been a Cub fan. I apologized to the speaker then just sat in a warm joyful glow!

I work for the family business. My Dad and I snuck out for a "meeting" to catch the game at a local restaurant/bar in the Glenview. It was awesome being able to celebrate with my Dad who is a life-long Sox fan closing in on 70. You never know how many more of those moments you have, so you learn to appreciate them. If the Sox win it all, it'll be among the happiest days of my life, made all the sweeter because my Dad will get to enjoy it with me.

I was at Midway, waiting for my flight to Atlanta. On the phone with my wife getting a play by play. I did my part by telling everyone around me what was happening, and announced it to the crowd when it was over.

Way to go, Sox!! And Carl came through when it counted. I'm glad, I did ride him some when he was struggling, and I'm man enough to say it when he does good.

So I'm in Atlanta for the next week or so. I won't get to see any of the games against the Indians. So I hope they sweep the Indians anyway.

Home with my sons watching the game. He said, "What are they pouring on their heads?" I said, "Champagne. It's a grown-up drink but it fizzles and people like to spray it around when they're really happy. Kinda like you like to do with shaving cream in pre-school." Then he said, "But why are they drinking it too? I don't drink the shaving cream." Sometimes there is no answer for a 3-year old. We'll be going go to the rally on Monday, though.

I was in my living room watching th efinal out with my wife and 10-month-old son. Funny thing is...a few minutes earlier, my wife asked me to go to the store for her. I told her, "The Sox are 4 outs away from winning the division...I want to see them clinch." She gave me a funny look, but she said, "Okay". Once Paulie caught that line drive, we both raised our fists and yelled, "YES!!!!!"

I watched about 20 minutes of post-game celebration on various channels before I finally left the house. Then, I listened to Brian Dolgin and the rest of the ESPN 1000 crew while I was out. Sweet...just sweet!!!!!!

After a long weekend of tennis we lost in the finals yesterday in a 3 hour, 3 set match that went down to the third set tiebreaker.
