Ha! Just posted a similar thread. That .282 BA is starting to look good. If he hits the playoffs hot, look out!

Imagine if he hit like he is now in the first half. damn, the Sox would have had a 20 game lead.

Very solid year for the big fella. Looks like another 100 r.b.i. season as well. Hopefully he has a some well timed blasts during the post season. He will defiantly be SHOWED THE MONEY this off season.

Yes this team cannot afford to lose the best hitter with their anemic offense. We need to either have Frank back or if he cannot go then we need a .300 hitter at DH in addition to Paulie next year.

Sign him. He is 29 and just entering his prime.

Outstanding season. Paulie has been Mr. Consistent; his HRs are one of the biggest reasons we're where we are.

Not to mention today's game-ending play. Sign him, Kenny!

I've been watching this throughout Sept., really pulling that he got to 40. Way to do it, Paulie!!

Hate to be a Debbie Downer here, but part of me thinks that every homer he hit beyond 30 just boosted his FA asking price. I figured that if he went from 30 to 40, it would add another $2M to his upcoming annual salary, which means that each of those HR's cost somebody (JR?) $200K next year.

I am scared that his asking price will be in the neighborhood of $48M/4 yrs, and I don't think that JR has any intention to get in a bidding war with the Yankees, Mets, or Astros.

Kick ass for the rest of this year, Paulie, for tomorrow you may be gone...:(:

I really hope we can bring Paulie back next year. A great guy, a great baseball player, and one of the main reasons the White Sox made the playoffs this year. Here's to you Paulie...:gulp:

Despite what his detractors say, Paulie is the clubhouse leader on this team. He is not full of himself, keeps a level head when all around is chaotic. When asked for a mvp on the team yesterday he correctly said '' The starting rotation. We would not be drinking champagne today without those guys.''

He is right of course. You need someone to be the face of the team with Frank not here. With the language barriers there are a limited number of guys to field the questions from the press. He does a good job with measured responses. Never over the top -even keel. Keep him here. If he comes up big in the post-season he becomes our Jeter.
