From Fred Mitchell's column:
The White Sox entered Wednesday night's game against the Tigers with 94 victories. If the Sox win 96 games, it will mark the third-most victories in a season in franchise history. The Sox won 99 in 1983 and 98 in 1964.

Didn't the White Sox win over 100 games one time in the early years...I'm thinking 1917?

The White Sox won 100 games in 1917, but one of the wins was awarded on a forfeit.
