Apparently there have been complications with the pregnancy (no further details). No word on when Crede will return (but they hope tomorrow).

I hope everything turns out OK - our prayers are with your family Joe!!!

Aye, thats awful. Could have used him today, thats for sure(Blum with the bases loaded and one out?! What?!)

Not that thats whats most important in a situation like this. I will say a little prayer for him and his family tonight.

It just shows that there are more important things than baseball. I really hope things go well for Joe and his family. He's always been one of my favorite players.

Good luck - hope we see ya back real soon!!

My family has been through complications in pregnancy a few times so I know how terrible the experience can be. I sincerely wish you the best Joe and to your entire family. God Bless you and your family. Take all the time you need off. Baseball is not important at all. Your family is what is important.

Wow! How old is she??? Thats freaking crazy! If I were a ballplayer and my daughter got hit, I would jump off that field in a F-in SECOND to make sure she was okay. I couldnt even imagine the fear and adrenaline I would have from that.

But I really hope everything is okay with Joe and his wife. Those complications with pregnancy can have very bad results but I PRAY that everything is okay. The best thing is that it is the year 2005 and the best doctors in the world have the best technology in the world so hopefully everything will be okay. I actually have a good feeling about this and think she will be just fine. WE LOVE YOU JOE!!!

Our thoughts and prayers are with Joe, wife Lisa, daughter Ann and new baby.

In one article it said that the baby was in a breech position, hope everything works out and they welcome a new little Crede, don't know when the baby is due. Putting it in perspective, our post season dreams mean nothing compared to a brand new healthy baby.

I sure hope the little one and mother will be fine.
Sometimes positive wishes and prayers are all that we have.
There have been studies of this and the unexpected results were not easy for the scientists to swallow as it proved that positive wishes and prayers can make a difference.
My best to them,my very best.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Joe is going to hit two homeruns tonight and dedicate one to his wife and one to his new baby. Excellent! Way to go Joe!

This is much more important than an otherwise meaningless Central Division Title. Hope everything goes well. Crede seems like a real quality guy.

While I would love to have Joe back in the lineup tonight he should be able to take the time that he needs. the fams do give up a lot of time together (although well compensated) and when things like this come up you can see how important they are. That being said. I hope all goes well. Welcome back Joe and lets get a win tonight!

Joe's in the game at 3rd base in the bottom of the 8th! Glad you're back, Joe! Keep swinging the bat as well as you have lately! Wouldn't it be something to celebrate the birth of a child and the clinching of the division in the same week? Whew! I'd need a drink!
