I agree with AJ's walk-off and Memorial Day, But would add Crede's walk-off last week.

Problem with Crede's walk off hr was that they should have won that game. But I guess that can be said for the Memorial Day game to.

I was supposed to go to that 6/18 game, had tickets, but it was my stupid anniversary and my BF hates baseball (I know, I know, get rid of him) so I gave up the ticket. As I walk in the door from our dinner and turn on the TV what do I see but AJ's home run.

Very good list. I would add Crede's walk-off to the best and Garcia's 8/23 "One Hit Too Many" to the worst.

My best and worst were two games I took in out here on the Left Coast.

Best....
5/24 - 11 Inning 2-1 victory over the Angels - That Rally Monkey was out FOREVER...But our pitching and bullpen held strong and we eaked out a victory at the Big A.

And worst...
6/11 - 1-2 Padres. Hermanson gives up his first runs of the season in the bottom of the 9th while trying to hold onto a 1-0 Buerhle gem in front of a hostile group of Padres fans. Brilliant pitchers duel...PAINFUL LOSS!

Is that the game where the Padres fans started chanting "Al Capone Al Capone" Nice way to overgeneralize a city, folks.

You know I didn't hear that. We were too busy being surrounded by a group of drunk kids screaming at us to leave their town. The funny thing was we could understand that since we were winning at the time, but the fans were even nastier after THEY won.

This is why I hate San Diego and simply call it Tijiuana North.

The Crede walk off is easily at the top of the list here, no others come close in terms of impact, either to the race standings or to Sox confidence

Worse Losses-

Oakland in April, Weidger palying 3rd, Crede playing SS, then not being able to take first when he didn't attempt to move out of the way of the pitch.

Cleveland the 3rd game of the year- Shingo blows up as we blow 3 run lead in the 9th, lose in extra innings

August- Blowing a 5 run lead to Kansas City (Mike Sweeeny) and losing in extra innings

All 3 losses to the Cubs, especailly the McCarthy outing

Freddy losing a 1 hitter

Sept- Blowing a 5 run lead to KC again and losing in the bottom of the 9th

Losing to Santana again last Thursday in extra innings

Last night, letting a no name lead off hitter hit a Game Winning HR to dead center....OUCH!

Yeah, they had enough confidence to not mind bending over the very next night in front of a packed house. And blowing it the night after that, too.

The Sox use confidence grenades---pull the pin and wait a bit.

Worst L
July 27 @ KC. C Politte gives up a 3 run tater to Mike Sweeney in the 8th ruining what should have been Garland's 16th win. Garland has just two victories since. Luis V gives up the winning run in the bottom of the 13th.

wins
1. A.J.'s walk off vs. LA
2. Crede's walk off vs. Cleveland
3. B-Mac's win vs. Boston

losses
1. Freddy's 1 hit loss vs. Minnesota
2. 16 or so inning loss vs. Minnesota
3. Sweeny's 2 HR game in KC

I would add the 12-2 drubbing we gave the Cubs during the Friday afternoon Game 1 of the crosstown series at Comiskey this year to the best wins list.

I concur on the 16 inning loss to the Twins being up there as a bad one. The Sweeney 2 HR game too is also a good call to make the "bad" list.

Our best win of the season will be coming this weekend.

top 3 in no particular order off the top of my head:

AJ's homer off LA, sweet uniforms, sweet hit, sweet call by hawk
Jose vs the Yanks at the Stadium, simply shut them down and started his kick ass run
Joe's homer vs the Indians, just the pure excitment we all felt after that was worth it.

Honorable mention:
Last Friday against the Twins, Jose put a stop to all the nonesense

Losses:

3rd game with Cleveland, what the hell was that?
Twins last Thursday, it felt like we'd never win or get a hit again
Last Monday vs Cleveland, but it'll be rendered moot soon enough.

Honorable mention:

Last night, all I could say for 20 minutes was goddamn

First game of the season, when Konerko and Dye went yard back to back off Wickman to tie the game. Then I think Uribe won it with a sac fly?

This list is pretty good, but I would add to the best, the May 21st game at the urinal when the sox trailed 1-0 and look defeated until the 8th, then with 2 outs Paulie hits one to center that goes off Patterson's glove opening the flood gates for four runs and the Sox eventually winning 5-3

To add to the worst list. The second game of the series in Boston when it was 6-5 Boston and Jenks gave up a three-run shot to Ortiz to make it 9-5. Boston brings in Schilling to shut things down and Rowand and Konerko go deep but the Sox end up losing 9-8, that one hurt :whiner:

The first game of the season the Sox won 1-0. I think you are talking about the second game. Not trying to be picky, just clarifying

Nobody has mentioned Rowand's 3-run moon shot in extra innings in San Diego. I would rate that as one of the best.

This is easy

Worst Loss: July 27th when we coughed up a 5 run lead to Sweeney, Garland didn't get the win and lazy, heartless attitude began.

Best Win: Still to come (I Hope)

As for best games, I think we're forgetting the early comeback off Wickman - didn't we hit two homers in the 9th to win it? I think the reason we forget that game is because the Shingo nightmare was the next day.

1. 6/18 A.J.'s walk off winner. A full house, the Go-Go Sox song, the 59 retro uniforms. The way they came back...all things were possible that evening.

2. 5/21 Sox get four in 8th to beat Cubs on national TV. Small ball at its finest.

3. 6/12 Sox get two in 8th inning to tie, the Roward hits three run ding-dong off Hoffman in 10th which would win it.

-----

1. 7/27 Sox blow five zip lead. Gload's big error, the start of the second half blues.

2. 8/23 Garcia throws a one hitter and gets beat!

3. 9/14 A lot of September ones to pick from. This is my choice. Hermanson gives up lead literally in five minutes. Dye stumbles allowing winning run to score.

The two worst losses were in KC on 7/27 and 9/14 because we blew 5 run leads in both games. The other worst loss was the first Cleveland game last week.

The best wins were: Uribe 3B off Rivera in NY, AJ's HR against LA, and Crede's HR against Cleveland.

These bests and worsts from everyone are really good, I mean it shows how die-hard we all are that we remember every game.

This one isin't in the top 3 of loses, but it's an honorable mention, do you guys remember the one in san diego when we had a 1-0 lead the ENTIRE game???

I remember that because my friend was having a party(and it was a perfect summer night for one to and I guess it was a great party!) But anyway, I didn't go because he is a flubs fan and I knew the game either would not be on at his house or he would be rooting against the sox. But anyway, one of the most boring games! And I was just waiting for the last out, and this was during the time when Dustin was AUTOMATIC so I had complete faith but at the same time I had a bad feeling about the ninth, and sure enough, a homerun then a bases loaded hit for a 2-1 Padres win. That one hurt!:whiner: Games like that make you think of just where the sox could be if they could have won that one, especially right now when every game means so much.
But I guess it works both ways, but still

One of my worsts has to be when Shingo gave up something like 15 consecutive taters to the Tribe in the first series of the season to blow a lead in the 9th. I think that cost us a 3-0 start (and our magic number would be 2 now).
