IRVING, Texas - Players union head Donald Fehr warned owners that baseball faces big problems if there isn't a quick resolution to their plans to eliminate two teams.

Fehr said Wednesday night that contraction has to be settled before other issues, such as revenue sharing, player contracts and scheduling can be properly addressed. He also worries that free agency will be hurt.

``It will be carnage all over,'' Fehr said.

Fehr said the union knows little about management's plan.
