According to the Sox website, our first 4 playoff games would be:
Tuesday 10/4
Wednesday 10/5
Friday 10/7
Sat 10/8

This is regardless of the opponent, and still applies whether or not we have home-field advantage. Games will be played at the following times on those days:

Tuesday 10/4:

12:00 ESPN
3:00 ESPN
7:00 FOX
Wednesday 10/5:

12:00 ESPN
3:00 ESPN
7:00 ESPN
Friday 10/7:

3:00 ESPN2
7:00 ESPN
Saturday 10/8:

12:00 ESPN2
3:00 FOX
6:30 FOX
Obviously the day games are a sight for sore eyes (because of work schedules, despite our impressive day record). However, if everything stays the same right now, we would play the Angels in the first round. Being that they are on the West Coast, I doubt ESPN would be stupid enough to show a game at 10:00 a.m. Therefore, if we play the Angels, our earliest start time should be 3:00.

My guess is they stick us on the 12:00 one for the first two home games. It's not the Yankees or Red Sox, so it doesn't matter to Fox or ESPN. On the plus side, maybe the Angels will have jet lag.

It wouldn't be ESPN's call really, after Fox chooses whatever game they want to show for primetime, ESPN will put what they think will get the ratings at the 3 PM slot. Anyone remember what Game 3 of the ALDS in Seattle started? I don't think that was a noon start, so we can still hope we won't see any noon games.

I'm rooting for the 3 pm start, as I have to make up any hours I miss during the rest of the week. I hate having to work longer than normal! Then again who doesn't.

I think we can pencil in the AL East winner for primetime.

I don't remember, but is it usually all AL teams on the same day and all NL teams on the next day (for the DS)?

Are those times Eastern or Central?

Are those times Eastern or Central?

Just checked my cable program guide, Central, with the dates listed

Nice work to the original poster, I never thought of checking the tv guide, but I just wanted to edit in that my guide lists the Friday 3:00 game on ESPN2

I personally hope for no ESPN2 games since that would mean no HD for me (Fox and ESPN are okay  ), also, hoping that a day game and a Freddy start coincide

Personally, I'm hoping for a nooner. I have a 5:30 family comittment (Jewish holiday) that evening that would keep me out of the other two and I would have to sell my four tickets instead of three of them.

Somehow, I don't expect ESPN to call me before deciding which game to have at Noon.

I have the same commitment, but I'm in the Mountain time zone.

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that (if we make it) we play the Red Sox or Yanks in primetime.

I'm going to be calling in sick less than 2 weeks into a new job if Game 1 is a day game. That sucks.

For those who want primetime, the best bet would be for us to win the Wild Card (Indians vs Angels, Sox vs AL East) since we'd then play the AL East winner.

I don't care, I just can't wait for it to start!

My boss a cubs fan- sox hater

told me since i missed yesterday (back went out)

if we get the 12 noon games
he wont let me leave early.

that means my single tickets for the first two games
will go down the drain.

should i make him pay for the two tickets?

if we get 3:00 games, i can prob leave at 2:00.

this sucks.

That's why you save up **** you money. So if your boss does something that pisses you off, you can say "**** you", and quit.

They all expect me to be leaving early or missing some work for playoff games.

That will be tough though, as the odd man out of the AL East probably won't win the Wild Card since one of them will be guaranteed 2 losses when the Yanks play the Red Sox. I guess it's possible though, I haven't figured it out, but the Indians would probably have to get handled by both us and Tampa Bay, you never know though, we shall see. I personally don't mind any opponent other than Boston. I think our offense can get about 5-6 runs from their pitching, but that lineup scares me
