He did sign an extension. I remember them announcing it on the jumbotron. The title of this thread pretty much sums up the article.

Hasn't Ozzie stated that he wants to stay with the White Sox the rest of his career anyway? He loves this franchise.

Its interesting that he says that Ozzie has been "hinting" that he plans to leave Chicago. Could he be referring to Ozzie's "If the White Sox win the World Series, I'll retire" comment? That's the only "hint" I've heard.

It figures that the paper I just interviewed with last week would come up with Ozzie's name! I really didn't get a chance to meet with any of the sports reporters that day. Needless to say if I get the job and accept it... they'll have some explaining to do when I get down there. :smile:

If he were to quit, he wouldn't be able to sign with another team until his contract length expired unless he had permission from the White Sox.
