I have to be at a meeting in NY on Monday next week. They asked me to stay overnight and be there for Tuesday also. What are the chances we play at home on Tuesday night? What are the chances we play IN NY on Tuesday? Where are the possible playoff schedules? I can't seem to find that info anywhere. Any ideas?

Are those all night games? There's no chance we'd have day game on Tuesday, is there?

Using 2000 as the premise, I'd say there is a very good chance we'll play a day game on Tuesday. If we win the division with the best recrod, and Cle gets the WC, then we'll play LAA. Fox will put NYY or BOS on Primetime, virtually gaurenteeing that we play a day game. Thats what happened in 2000. If we slip to the WC spot and play NYY or BOS, we'll play at night.

Not to be a ticket hound, but if you somehow can't go to Game 1, I would love your ticket(s).

So we won't know the game time until pretty much the day before, is that right?

Back in 2000, I believe we found out the sunday night before the tuesday ALDS opener. I remember expecting a night game, then being forced to lie to two professors to get to take 2 midterms (which I bombed due to missing a day of craming) a day early. It'll probably be the same scenario this weekend, with the division races where they are.

Blah. I'm putting in my two week notice on Monday, so I'll have to work funky hours that week. At least they probably won't care since I'm quitting!

They were roughly equivilent to football starting times.

One day game on the 4th starts at like noonish, and another around 3, and the bos or NYY game at 7ish. We were in the 3 time slot in 2000. And the Cards were in the noon slot

I understand that espn has gone to court to attempt to prevent the Sox playoff games from being on TV.
In a secret aside, they have included pleadings requesting that, once ny & Boston are out of the playoffs, no playoffs games are to be shown on tv.

Here is the espn programming director~~:bandance:

If memory serves me right, back in 2000 all three of our games were during the day. The two games at home started at 3:00 and Noon. Then we went on the road to play an afternoon game in Seatle as well, where it was very difficult for the batters to see the baseball.
I am sure we will be stuck with the afternoon slots again.

I'm going to defecate a brick if the Sox play at noon on October 4th, as I have a midterm at 10 AM on October 4th and a two hour drive to the park. 3 or 4 PM would be fine, and a night game would be excellent. I guess I should root for an AL East team to win the Wild Card, because then we have to play one of them.

All because of the topic, I thought this would fit. Has anyone noticed that if you go to the White Sox site, they have a schedule listed for the ALDS? Well, I did a little research on other sites and you would find it funny to see the schedules posted on the likes of the Cardinals, Yankees, Red Sox etc. Some sites display potential schedules all the way through the World Series others don't.

Best possible scenario:

Boston wins AL East. Sox win AL Central and knock Cleveland out of Wild Card. New York wins Wild Card. Sox knock Yanks out in three evenings, Fox forced to televise some other team than Yanks for remaining evenings.

:D:

New York not in the playoffs!!!! What would ESPN and FOX do!!!! Thank God there would be the Red Sox.

Anyway, if we win the Central, we would get the Angels. You know damn well that will be in the afternoon.

After that, my head starts to hurt figuring out the rest.

The Sox have the best record in MLB in day games. Fine with me...

If they win the first round series they'll be on in prime time and everyone is happy.

One more day game in Cleveland. The start time for Saturday's game has been changed to 12:25.

That's not true. The Cards and Dodgers played game 1 at noon last year.

It all depends on who wins the Wild Card, no? If it's won in the east then the Sox would play Boston or New York in the first round. What if both teams make it--which one gets the primetime games?

I am sure absolutely nobody cares - but I scheduled all my meetings for Monday...and am coming home from NY on the last flight out Monday night. I'll be in Chicago on Tuesday. Now hopefully so will the Sox!!!!
