The best part is that you can actually see Boone trying to get up and AJ pushes him back down.

Down 1 in the 7th (I think). Bases juiced for Rowand, one out. Flies out to right, PK tags and scores and the Tribe tries to nail AJ going into 3rd (dumb.) Throw gets past Boone, who laid out for it. Joey waves AJ home and the picture shows the rest.

I was at the game and missed it in all the craziness in the stands until Chicago Sports Tonight pointed it out to me.

This has to be one of the funniest things I have ever seen. I was out last night and know that the sox won from the news (they finally had the sox score in Grand Rapids MI and not just the tigers & cubs) I did not see this at all until right now.

LMAO.....that is just flat out classic A.J.

I love this guy. If everyone on this team had his testical fortitude, the SOX would be in much better position to do something special. All this team needs is some swagger back, and we could still have that chance of going to the WS!!

Way to go A.J.---You know you were hoping it hurt. That'll teach "Airhead" Boone to smack one off your ace pitcher!!!

Pierzynski now features in two of 2005's Images Of The Year, along with:

On Baseball Tonight on ESPN, they kinda implied that AJ intentionally stepped on Boone. Whether he did or not, what was he supposed to do? Pick him up and not score the run? Yeah, sure.

I agree with the other posters about Pierzynski. It's obvious he loves to play the game, he gets emotional and he lights a fire under the team's collective butt. I even bought a Sox t-shirt with Pierzynski's name and number on the back.

As for next year, SIGN HIM!!! Go Sox!!!

I have it recorded in High Def and will take some high quality stills of it now. Not sure if I can post them though. Can I post pictures on the site? Is there a limit to the size and quality because I can take it up to 7 megapixels (4 MB).

Please... he was in full rounding the bag mode. He tries to avoid him, he probably slips and falls down. Although I'm sure this will earn him a chorus of boo's in C-Town.

Just think if that was his former team the Twinkies. He might have just layed a elbow on the 3B too. Very funny by AJ, I'd like to see Elarton plunk him tonight, that would be classic.

It was pure genious because he did it in such a way, that he could have said it was unintentional. He had about .025 seconds to come up with it and he did. AJ is pure evil genious and I love him.

Looks like Boone started to get up, and in another split second he would have tripped AJ, so AJ stepped on him to keep from being tripped or blocked. Totally clean.

I told you guys that you'd like him. He's a maniac. My first impression of AJ was this "look" that he gave to a hitter while he was behind the plate. He literally looked like he wanted to destroy the guy.

Just that 'look' had me hooked. I haven't seen any catcher that intense in a long time.

He totally killed the Sox and mocked them when he was on the twinkers. Getting a guy like this is just a master stroke. He is the team MVP this year.

09-21-2005, 02:26 PM
AJ had three options IMO:

1) Make a ninety degree turn, killing all momentum.
2) Step over him, which means a possible tripup.
3) Step on him.

He made the right choice :).

When something happens with the White Sox, the first place to turn is WSI!

Thanks to everyone for the info on AJ stepping on Boone. I was listening to the game on radio and must of been away when it happened 'cause I didn't hear anyone talk about it.

My first clues were the fake Cubune headlines about AJ attacking Boone!:D: Now, I get it...and I hope that this is a metaphor for the entire season. White Sox baseball: stepping on your back and rubbing your face in it!
