Just heard on the Score that, once again, Iguchi is not in the lineup for this afternoon's game. Oh joy, we get to see Willie Harris play.

THey were talking this morning on the score that Igushi said he is not use to getting so much rest, as he plays more games in the shorter season i n Japn then he will have this year.

What's the rest of the lineup look like for today? I still do not understand all the days off for some of our regulars...I guess Ozzie knows best? Go Sox!

Ozzie may know best but what the hee-hah is Iguchi not doing in the lineup today?

I think Iguchi can get his rest once we clinch this division.
This has been going on all season though, so there's no reason to keep arguing over this.

Must be tired from that pesky 3-run homer last night.

I'm confused. Ozzie has said that Iguchi is the MVP of this team, and yet he sits him way too often. IMO, Iguchi needs to be in the lineup every game. He can battle it out like everyone else on the team. The only reason I see Ozzie doing this is we have a rough 18 game schedule with no days off. I hope he's telling Iguchi to rest up and be ready to kick some a$$ for the last 17 games.

He didn't look tired last night.

Yay, another game in September where the regular lineup is not being used. You would think that with what has been happening lately Ozzie would stick with the same lineup every day until we have the division wrapped up. But no, we'll keep benching people and letting the bench play games. I don't get it.

I don't get it either. Iguchi should be in that lineup, this is a big game. I'd rather see Pablo Ozuna at 2B today than Harris but I doubt it. Ozzie hasn't used him there that much this year.

The only thing i can think of is that Iguchi has been shaky defensively lately, who knows.
Speaking of "the score",they have opened their phone lines to cubs fans only,so that they can call in and make fun of us on the air.
I hate that station more each passing year.

This game (like last nights game) is one they should win. Mark's on the mound, and Zach Greinke has a 6.06 ERA with a 4-16 record. After last night though, I'm not making any predictions. All I can say Willie is please TRY to get the bunt down when the situation calls for it, don't strike out on 3 straight pitches with the bat on your shoulder, and possibly, if you could, get a hit with men on base. Thank you.

Wrigley fans have plenty of time on their hands today, they don't have playoff tickets to buy.

If (A BIG IF) the sox don't make the play-offs, Ozzie will have to answer, "Why all the resting of players?"

This is seriously getting to be a sad thing, we need consistency. it seems after someone has a good game, they sit the next day.

Maybe because Ozzie won the WS with the Marlins from the Wild card position he's trying to let cleveland overtake us for the division lead and then we'll pearl harbor everyone as the wild card winner.

Willie Harris' average since coming back up- .425

He has been hitting decently since coming back. I can live with .425

I remember last week or two maybe dye had that 4 for 4 game and then he sat him the next day and I know this happens all the time but just cant remember who the rest are. come one ozzie let some people get hot and stay there. I am confused just like the rest of you.

I understand Ozzie's reasons to "rest" Iguchi, even though I don't necessarily agree with him.

However, how about keeping Iguhci's hot bat in the lineup, but still giving him a "rest," by DH-ing him?

Everett isn't exactly lighting the world on fire....

The voice of reason? Statistics!

Iguchi, career v. Zack Greinke

0/9, 4 K

Today's Lineup (EDIT):

Pods
Harris
PK
Everett
Rowand
Dye
AJ
Uribe
Crede

I'm confused; Harris has shown many a time that he's a bad situational hitter, and Uribe's on a tear. They should be switching places here.

i can't think of many things more depressing than seeing the size of the crowd at the royals game today. the crowd is so dead you can hear the players talking to each other in the dugout–not to mention players yelling explitives when they pop-up for the second out in the top of the fourth...

I am not as concerned about out lineup as Buhrle giving up hits to the Royal lineup. Most of these players have absolutely no business being in the majors, yet Buhrle has already given up 2 runs.

I used to in Montreal often

Kansas City and Tampa will be the next contraction teams
Tampa no problem, but Kansas City is being destroyed like the Expos

Don't let the large crowds of sheep at Clark and Addison fool you, every franchise has had its ups and downs and this usually translates to ups and downs in attendance. A bad record and crappy weather doesn't help.

I've spent quite a few cold, meaningless September games at old Comiskey...

It looks like it's raining in KC. Not that they don't have attendance problems, but did you expect a sellout on a rainy day?

By the way, I agree that KC and TB should be contracted at this point. It's a shame because the Royals were one of the premier franchises in the 70s.

It's not nearly as depressing as the horrible baseball the Sox have been playing.

If you find that acceptable against this lineup then you damn Buhrle with faint praise. They have 1 legitimate major league every day player playing today.
