View Full Version : *OFFICIAL* ALDS Tickets Offering Board

ALDS tickets go on sale at noon today, and as discussed in this thread (http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=844134&mode=linear), I thought it would be a good idea for WSIers to look after other WSIers if they happen to have extra tickets they can't use. This thread will be the place for offering your extras.

Ticket sale information:

There is a limit of four tickets per person, and tickets also can be purchased through TicketMaster by phone at 866-SOX-GAME and 312-559-1212. Tickets will not be sold at individual outlets or at the U.S. Cellular Field box office.

Game 1 ticket link (http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/04003B2CD72E6607?artistid=805917&majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=10) (Game 1 of the ALDS if Sox have home field, game 3 if not)
Game 2 ticket link (http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/04003B2C0632285B?artistid=805917&majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=10) (Game 2 of the ALDS if Sox have home field, game 4 if not)
Game 3 ticket link (http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/04003B2C075528BE?artistid=805917&majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=10) (Game 5 of the ALDS if Sox have home field; this ticket would not be used if the Sox don't have HF advantage)

PLEASE NOTE: With respect to refunds for games not played and Ticketmaster service fees, it is possible that games 2 and 3 above (if the Sox don't have home field advantage) or even all 3 games might not be played (if they choke and don't make the playoffs). In the event that a game is not played, only the original buyer's credit card will be refunded, so if you buy/trade a ticket for a game that isn't played, you'll have to work with the person you bought it from to get a refund. There is a non-refundable Ticketmaster order processing fee of $10 per order, so it's up to the buyer & seller to figure out who has to pay that fee even if the game isn't played. This order processing fee is not charged on a per-ticket basis -- if you bought 8 tickets or 1 ticket, it's just $10, so you might ask your seller to pro-rate the cost if they bought a bunch at one time.

In order to make this work and be fair, please try to follow these rules:

1. You must have your name listed as a participant in the thread (http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=844134&mode=linear) mentioned above or PM me to add your name after 10:30 this morning. I'll keep a running list of participants at the end of this post. Please don't PM and ask me to sell you my tickets; I have no idea if I'll get through to buy them and it's going to take a few days before I know how many extras I won't need. Just PM me and I'll add your name to the list. The list will be closed after tickets go on sale...if you're too late, you're on your own (sorry!).

2. You must try to buy tickets yourself. This is going to be an honor-system deal where we take your word that you tried to order and didn't succeed. No freeloaders, please. Some people have posted saying that they will be in class then or have a meeting, which is tough luck, but those that made an effort to get tickets themselves should be rewarded first.

3. If you have extras, post a reply to this thread indicating how many tickets you have, which game(s), and the cost including your Ticketmaster fees. This is not a place to scalp your tickets for a profit.

4. Anyone interested in posted tickets should reply to THAT POST (not just reply generally to the thread) and tell the poster by name that you're interested. The idea is to share the wealth, so if you've already gotten tickets to the same game, please don't reply. Yes, I'm a Socialist at heart, I guess -- it's better to have 50 WSIers with 2 tickets to use than 25 with 4 apiece. The first person to respond should be given first dibs, but I'll leave it up to the seller to work out the details on making the sale/exchange.

5. After a successful transaction or agreement to sell, the sellers should edit his/her original posting to indicate that the tickets were sold to X poster, e.g. "SOLD 2 tickets to joeybagadonuts 9/17." That way you can tell if anyone is buying up a disproportionate share.

Anyway, I'm sure this will be a trainwreck, so please play nice and hopefully we can all get to see our White Sox destroy the Angels in the first round.

Any questions, post them in this thread. I'm going to post this now and edit it to show all the screen names who are participating in a bit...

There used to be a strategy to call, say, the St. Louis area code Ticketmaster, because you'd get right through and they'd still be able to sell you tickets. Not sure if this loophole is still in effect...

Well, at least I'm going to all 3 games -- got singles for those, plus another single for Game 1, which is for a friend of mine.

I'll be in one of the best seats in the park for game 2, though -- Section 335, row 3. Whoa. :o: The other tickets...meh (101, 154, 111).

I discovered too late the "buy multiple games" button; I used that and got in right away to choose all 3 games, albeit 1 ticket apiece.

I am interested in a single for games 1 and or 2. I was able to get in for game 3 only for a single (originally tried 4 and was booted, then multiple games and was booted / shut out).

I did get Sec 111 which is way in the Right Field corner (though close to the Budweiser stand :gulp: ) in row BB with my single ticket for game 3. Is BB close to the field or close to the back / handicapped seating of the section? Wost case scenario I get a refund less the $10 processing fee. Thanks.

Also for anyone selling tickets - make sure to tell those you are selling them to Ticketmaster doesn't refund the processing fee (my fee was $10) if the game isn't played (possible for Game 3 - Dark Clouds will say for all 3) so make sure people agree to eating the $10 fee before hand to avoid problems. Ticketmaster will only refund the Credit Card holder who purchased the tickets.

So any extra ticket for Games 1 or 2 would be awesome. I wish I could have purchased season tickets and avoided this or had the chance to buy them at the ballpark like I did in 1983 (Tickets $6 SRO).

The good news: I managed to at least get singletons to Games 1 and 2.
The bad news: I think I might literally have the worst seat in the house for Game 1 - Sec. 506, Row 21, Seat 12 :D:
Game 2 is a little better - Sec. 557, Row 9, seat 13

Yes - On the Lower Level go to Beers Around the World in the Right Field Corner ($5.50 16 oz). They have several beers displayed but on the bottom of each refrigerator are Budweiser and Bud Light (they are not allowed to display it but this year they are allowed to sell it). The Upper Deck has the same stand slightly to the Left of Home Plate.

I NEVER drink Swiller - I drink American owned and brewed Budweiser.

Are you certain that's how TM is going to handle potential refunds? IIRC, in 2000, we were refunded all fees for games not played (but I had a partial season plan and bought my tickets through the White Sox directly). If so, I'll modify the original post in this thread to add that note about the service fees having to be eaten by either the buyer or the seller -- seems fairer to make the buyer pay them, doesn't it?

2nd row off the filed

Cool. I tried getting extras for the board but when I originally got through for game 3 they had for and I selected and then was shut out by an "internal error". I scrambled to get the only ticket left after I was shut out on 4 then 2 than 1 ticket for the first game.

I am just pleading on the kindness of a WSIer for the ALCS and World Series - I will buy a ticket and a few beers as well for a ticket.

Cancelled/Postponed Events

Occasionally, events are canceled or postponed by the promoter, team, band or venue. Should this occur, we will attempt to contact you to inform you of refund or exchange procedures for that event. For exact instructions on any canceled or postponed event, please check the event information online or contact us. If you purchase a ticket through Ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster.ca or Ticketmaster's Charge By Phone, and a refund is issued, then Ticketmaster will most likely give you a refund by issuing a credit to the credit card that you used to purchase that ticket, and the holder of the ticket will not be able to physically present it for a refund. If a ticket is purchased through a Ticketmaster Ticket Center and a refund is to be issued, then you may only be able to receive the refund by presenting the ticket yourself to the Ticket Center where it was purchased.

Ticketmaster typically only offers refunds and/or exchanges based on the promoter's, team's or venue's instructions. In order to receive a refund or an exchange that may be offered, you will have to comply with the promoter's, team's or venue's instructions or deadlines, which, along with the decision about whether or not to issue a refund or an exchange, may be at the promoter's, team's or venue's discretion.

When Ticketmaster issues a refund, it will issue a refund of the ticket's face value paid (or, if a discounted ticket, then instead the discounted ticket price paid), the facility fee and the convenience fee. If the event was scheduled to occur in Canada, then the order processing fee will also be refunded (but not for events that were scheduled to occur in the United States). In no event will delivery prices or any other fees or amounts be refunded. If a refund is issued, it will be issued using the same method of payment that was used to purchase the tickets. If a credit card was used to make the refunded purchase, then only that actual credit card will receive the credit for the refund.

If an event is canceled, please Contact us (http://www.ticketmaster.com/h/customer_serve.html) for information on receiving a refund. If the event was moved or rescheduled, the venue or promoter may set refund limitations. Contact us (http://www.ticketmaster.com/h/customer_serve.html) for exact instructions.

Please make sure to include/provide your account number so we can expedite your refund if applicable.

Ticketmaster keeps $10 no matter how big your order is, so you'd get back $35. The only fees that are refunded are the $5/ticket Convenience Fees.
