View Full Version : Victory over which NL team would be the sweetest this October

09-11-2005, 06:14 PM
Some teams we wanna beat more than others

09-11-2005, 06:15 PM
Naw, it really doesn't matter to me. I just wanna beat one NL team this October. Any one.

09-11-2005, 06:27 PM
((Sigh)) Can we just get to October before we see this kind of thing?

09-11-2005, 06:32 PM
Ah, let's get there first.

09-11-2005, 06:33 PM
I'm not picky.

I would choose the Cardinals, just because they are by far the best team in the NL. But, I wouldn't be too dissappointed if we had to do it to somebody else.

Really won't matter too buisy being a :bandance: should we win, however I said houston just because I'd like to beat old scrap iron.

Cardinals. Anyone else would be completely meaningless.

I don't give a ****, the Sox haven't won **** in 88 years, I don't care who they play.

09-11-2005, 07:41 PM
Providing the Sox get to the postseason (the lead will be 5 1/2 after the
Twinks continue to roll over and play dead better than my
sister's Lab mixes),i'd like to beat Ozzie's first mentor,Tony LaRussa.

But,as ChiSox Mike said earlier, LET'S GET TO THE PLAYOFFS FIRST!!

another homer - Indians up 6-0. Joe Mays pitching in relief of Silva yileds the latest blast.... Indian fan holding sign sez - 'this is next year'...

Time to get worried............

I voted for St. Louis. Right now I would like to get back on a winning track and find a place that carries the games in Millington TN area. I'm there for two weeks.

Time to get worried............

I guess we will have to shut up Cleveland ourselves.

You mean like the 4-game sweep we handed them after the all-star break? Is that what you mean?

Two very different teams than they were back then PHG.Which of those 'different teams' was the one that got swept at home by TB last month? Or lost 2 of 3 to the Twins last weekend?

09-11-2005, 09:13 PM

Just win the whole thing!

I'll be happy with:

A. Actually getting to the post season and then

B. winning a home game for a change.

After that anything's gravy in my book.

The team that would be the peachiest to beat isnt one of our options in this poll.

That would be the team the Scrubs could not beat to get to the World Series. Think on that for a minute, brings a smile to my face.

I've got nothing against any of the NL teams in contention, but we might owe Atlanta a whoopin or two. I remember they swept us at Turner Field in 2002.

I just wouldn't be surprised if there was someone who'd bitch if we won the WS against team X, that we didn't do it against team Y...no doubt.

09-12-2005, 07:59 AM
Definitely St. Louis because they're the best team in the NL and plus my wife is from that area, so alot of her relatives are Cards fans too.

it wouldn't matter... got bigger things to focus on now...
