While the rest of the country will be watching the annual East Coast Hype Bowl, I think Saturday's game in Chi is the one to watch and has the makings of a classic duel. Garland can tie Colon for the lead in wins and pass him in ERA. I hope the place is jammed.
Oh, and Washburn vs MB on Friday night is not too shabby either.

Too bad. I'll be at the park Saturday.

I've seen Jon pitch three times in person this season. He is 3-0 with a 0.36 ERA and two shutouts. Hopefully, I'll be good luck for him again.

Colon could have two broken legs and he'd still manage to start... that dude's one tough customer. Should be a great matchup.

Both needs to watch out for Cliff Lee of Cleveland. Isn't he something like 15-4?

LipIMO, MB and JG would have to get bombed in their last 5 starts, Colon would have to end the season on the DL (or at least miss 3 or more starts) and Cliff Lee would have to throw 1-hit shutouts for the rest of the season to win the Cy Young.

In other words, not bloody likely.

I haven't heard anything about him not pitching out here, so I'm assuming he's making the start, but they'll monitor him during the game.

just found this from the latimes:

"Angel ace Bartolo Colon, who was pulled from Sunday's game against Seattle in the sixth inning because of back spasms, was still "a little stiff" Tuesday, according to Mike Scioscia, but the manager added that Colon was "feeling better. Scioscia said Colon was still penciled in for Saturday's game against the Chicago White Sox, but the Angels won't make a decision until Wednesday or Thursday."
