Schillings care for family from New Orleans

BOSTON (AP) -- Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/4267/) and wife Shonda paid to fly a New Orleans family of nine to Boston and pledged to provide them with housing for a year.

I've grown to really despise that guy. This obviously changes some things.

That's part of the reason why I posted it. I think a lot of us forget that on-field attitudes do not necessarily reflect how a player acts in their personal lives. Kudos to him and his family.

I believe I remember hearing years back that Schilling donated more money to charities, etc. than any other ballplayer. Somewhere around $10 million, he was either with Philly or Arizona, I think it was Philly.
