Lately,Hawk has been refering to Juan Uribe as "Juan-ie".
I don't know about other Sox fans, but I am not a fan of
nicknames ending in "IE" (Paulie,Juan-ie,etc);too sCrUBS like
for my tastes. How do you feel about Uribe as "Juan-ie"??

I don't really like the "ie" thing much at all. I have always been partial to batmanZOSO's Juan "and two to" Uribe though!

I'll work on it.Thanks for the commentary.I kind of thought so myself.
It was too late at that point,but i'll correct it.John Rooney is not dead;
just his career as a Sox PBP after this year.If there is an upside to this,
Rooney's last year with the Twinks was 1987.What happened??
Twins win WS in 7 games. Can lightening strike twice??
We'll see.But I appreciate constructive criticism from a veteran
like you,no.2 .

I was watching the game with my dad the other day , and he had a pretty good nickname for Juan I liked. He called him the" Dominican Slasher ". I thought that was pretty cool or just Slasher for short. I mean at the plate he always a cuttin' and a slashin'.

By that rationale you could also call him the "Dominican Whiffer" or the "Dominican Popper Outer".

This is another thing I don't get. What's cub-like about it?

Sammy-ie. Moises-ie. Henry-ie Blanco. Ryne-ie. Who are players that are called these things?

Not as of late...He's been very disciplined at the plate recently.

Woody,Kerry,Sammy,Dusty,K-orey.
I guess I should have said names that end in a "y".
Just sounds kinda childish to me,but that's me.

Don't forget Mickey (the dandy little glove man), Gracey, Ricky (Gutierrez), Matty (I think I remember them using this for Matt Stairs now and then), Grudzie . . .

Thank you.How quickly a Sox fan like myself forgets.

PS- "the dandy little glove man" was Mickey Morandini.I loved him when
he was with the Phillies. My dad lives about half an hour away from the Phils'
park.He took me to see them play the Mets when I went for a visit in
1993 (I know;you're happy for me).I brought my Walkman with just so I
could hear Harry Kalas say "Mickey Morandini".:D: :D: :D:
The Phils beat the Mets 3-2 that day.Later on,they played
in the WS,losing in 7 to the Blow Jays.
