Hey maybe you guys can help me?!
I love the White Sox slogan "Win or Die Trying" and I heard a radio
commerical for the Sox naming all of their slogans throughout the years. My
buddies and I came up with a list of all the ones we could remember, are we
missing any? Do we have the years correct?
Thanks, Jim

2005: Win... Or Die Trying
2004: Sox Pride!
2002: This is White Sox Baseball
1998: These Kids Can Play
1993: Good Guys Wear Black
1983: Southside Hitmen
1959: Go-Go Sox
1919: Black Sox
1906: Hitless Wonder White Sox

2003: It's time

The Kids can Play was 2000, I remember this specifically from the division clinching game when they were all drinking champagne and all and Konerko made a joke that only Garland is still a kid (under 21)

Good Guys wear Black started in 1991, when they started wearing Black and White for the first time since the forties.

1983 was Winning Ugly
1977 was Southside Hitmen

Come Ready to Play was 2002 I beleive

1906 was simply "The Hitless Wonders", no need for the White Sox part

Thats all I can think of

EDIT: It's time couldn't have been '03 it seems to recent and I dont think it was used during the All Star Year. I think it was 2001, the year after we blew it in the playoffs, that makes more sense

The 1977 Sox were the "SouthSide Hitmen".
That was also the year Nancy Faust began playing
"Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye" for every Sox HR or
opposing pitching change,IIRC.

Wasn't the name "Black Sox" given to the Sox after the whole controversy? Or was this a commonly used name even before the World Series? I always saw it as a negative dig at the White Sox.

Yes, 2000 was definitely "The Kids Can Play"

Here are more I remember from the mid-80s (these are primarily the marketing slogans used by the Sox for their respective seasons):

1984: Let's Do It Again
1985: The Stars At Night
1986: Join The Spirit and "The Hawk Wants You"
1987: Get Ready For Your White Sox
1988: Anything Can Happen

The term 'Go-Go' Sox actually started during the 1951 season when guys like Minoso, Fox, Busby and Carrasquel were running wild on the bases.

That's almost as bad as the Bulls' "Through Thick and Thin."

Come on now... Norm Van Lier is tight. I like the whole barber shop thing.... I just dont like how Kirk Heinrich is with them. Chandler would've been better to have in those commercials and Kirk.

Surely there had to be a slogan in 1990 for Old Comiskey's last year?

If my memory serves me right, wasn't 1991's slogan "Brand New, Old Fashioned Fun"?

However, "Good Guys Wear Black" was correctly posted for 1993, not 1991.

1970: 'Oh Come, All Ye faithful...'

1971: 'A New Deal...'

1992: 'Good Guys Wear Black...'

1993: 'Good Guys, and Winners, Wear Black!'

2001: 'It's Time!'

Sox fan 83:

No I am not making these up. They are listed on the yearly seasonal highlight recap tapes that I have on the team or listed in the books put out by Sox historians as Rich Lindberg and Bob Vanderberg.

The 1970 'slogan' was on the Christmas cards the Sox put out to their fans, media, sponsors and so forth for example. I'm surprised you don't remember the 2001 slogan. It was publicly ridiculed enough including at WSI when the Sox stumbled out of the gate and fell fifteen games under .500 in late May, even that dope Rob Gallas pulled all ads using it by July.
