Some good games to watch tonight.

Mags knocked 1 in and scored as Detroit jumped to a 2-0 lead over Cliff Lee and his Tribe.

Pedro is on the mound as the Mets host the Phillies in the mega battle royal for the NL Wild Card spot.

A red hot Joe Blanton faces John Lackey in the exciting AL West tilt.

And Big Bird takes his ragamuffin team on the road to face the pitcher our Greatest American Hero owns - King Felix Hernandez.

Enjoy!

He flew out this time, but his two-out RBI single in the first has to make you forgive him a little. :D:

Carlos Pena just drove in Nook Logan with the fourth Detroit run.

A few weeks ago I could not have guessed that I'd be paying any attention to a late-season Indians/Tigres game. Now I'm anxiously following the game on the 'net.

GO TIGRES!

GO TIGRES!

Hats off to Mike Maroth who leaves the game after seven innings, allowing only three hits, zero since the second inning.

I know the feeling. It makes me sick to root for Detroit, but that will all change tomorrow. Then I get to root for...the Twinkies.

I feel so dirty.

It's good, but even when it is choppy, it is faster and more descriptive than gameday and normally reloading it fixes the problem.

Even when there's congestion, it seems like the worst thing it does is make the picture choppy but still keep the sound streaming perfectly. So even if you rarely can't see whats going on, you can almost always hear it.

This is why is can be difficult to pass teams that are ahead of you in the standings. From the Indian's perspective, their loss tonight means a seven game deficit instead of a five game deficit. Another day off the schedule with no improvement.

No jinx among White Sox fans. Let the cubs worry that.

The Official Around the League Thread is for all games of the evening and I will make it a daily thread.

In other news Atlanta is mounting a comeback to sweep slumping Washington.

Boston cameback yet again against a weak TB bullpen to win - The Sox' lead for the best AL record is down to 3 games.

The Phillies pounded Pedro Martinez and take the lead of the NL Wild Card (which will go to the last day of the season if not the Monday or Tuesday after).

And the AL West battle between the Crosby, Still & Nashless A's and Anaheim.

And there you have it - no continue your ESPN boycott and enjoy the White Sox and their 7 game lead heading down the home stretch.

um just to be picky... that's 7 instead of 6...

But it is indeed now September with a 7 game lead and more like a 9 game lead because they have played two extra games and lost them both...

Yeah, but if the Sox actually DO go 15-16, this will be one STRESSFUL month, I guarantee it.

How about going 19-12 with some serious momentum going into October 3rd. Now that will be fun!

Then the Indians would have to go 25-3. That just ain't human. I'd be blown away if they got anywhere close to 21-8.

I'm thinking realistically SOX: 17-14, Indians: 18-13.

I just don't think the Tribe is built for the stretch. As good as their hitting is, their pitching is garbage for the most part. At least inconsistant enough to lose them a handful of games.
