Bellhorn will sign with the Yankees on Tuesday after he clears waivers, the website reported Monday night. The infielder was put on unconditional release waivers by Boston on Friday after he refused to accept a minor-league assignment. He had been designated for assignment on Aug. 19.

Come to think of it, I don't think Steinbrenner has looked at numbers from anyone outside of the Yankees organization for at least two years.

Does this mean those Cub fans who I saw cheering for bellhorn while he was on the Red Sox in the playoffs last year will now be cheering for the Yankees, or does the Matt Clement presence on the Red Sox cancel it out?

Man, it must be hard to be a pathetic Cub fan with all these former players to root for!
