Well they're shutting him down for yet another surgery.

Maybe they should bring in Henry Roengartner.

The ultimate "throwing in of the towel" for the Cubs..

Although he's in good hands. I lived in Cincinnati for 2 years, and I swear, that Doc (Kremchek) he's going to must be the God of Sports related surguries. Their sports talk guys down there were always talking about what "Out of Town" ballplayers he was working on.

You forgot Danny Wright, James Baldwin and pretty much everyother starter we've had for the last 10 years.

Prediction: Buehrle pitches a gem (could even be a no-hitter) tonight, and the headline in tomorrow morning Cubune highlights Woods going on the shelf for the rest of the year...even though the Cubs have been out of it for weeks and this was completely expected.

Nice Quote from this article:

"Something more serious, such as a tear, is what the medical team, Wood and the Cubs are hoping won't be there. "If there's a torn labrum, that's a different scenario,'' O'Neal said. "But if it's a simple procedure, there is no hesitation to think he wouldn't be ready for spring training.''"

So the Cubs are hoping that there is no torn Labrum... I'd suspect that in a couple weeks they actually let the Fans in on what they probably already know...

(Chris Farley voice):.....'member when, that time, back in 1998, he struck out 20 Astros in one game ? Yeah, that was awesome !

How stupid is this team ? Everyone with half a brain knows the season is over, they're trading off players for minor leaugers, and they know that Carrie needs surgery. So what do they do in a meaningless late season game that their losing ? They bring him out to pitch ONE MORE TIME 2 days before he goes for surgery. Baseball idiocy doesn't begin to describe them, and I love every minute of it. I hope Dusty's there for a long time.

"A Torn Labrum would indicate that this injury is directly attributed to piracy on behalf of the South Side Team. After all, they killed our ivy, didn't they?"

Just think what havoc poster "Torn Labrum" wrecks on these boards. Imagine what he'd do to Carrie Woods's shoulder.
