In series that average more than 8 runs a game, the Sox are 10-11.
In series that average less than 8 runs a game, the Sox are 13-1.

So dammit, we don't need a great offense, just better defense and our staff to be excellent. Of course, I'd take Griffey so I don't need 10 Rolaids a game.

That's an odd stat. You can look at it a lot of different ways and it could mean many things including the obvious. My take is that the Sox pitchers are controlling how the game plays out more often then not. It also shows why, with the way this team was constructed, I'd take great pitching over great hitting any day. But I would love both too. :D:
