At least some other things are going well:
The Blow Sawx are losing in a similar performance that the Right Sox put up; 4-hit shutout into the 8th inning by Ervin Santana...and we can all take solace in the fact that Boston's bullpen blows (Lenny DiNardo 0.1IP, 2 ER...Lenny DiNardo??? ???)

This can be like a super-game thread, when anything important happening with CLE, MIN, BOS, etc. can be posted here.

Not related to the Sox, but the Mets blew an 8-0 lead to the Nats and Pedro started the game. The Mets were up 8-0 after 6 and Pedro was cruising along. He had allowed 6 hits and thrown just 75 pitches, but I guess Willie Randolph figured that the pen could get 9 outs without allowing 8 runs. It's hard to blame Randolph, but the Mets pen somehow did it. They gave up 6 runs in the 7th and Braden Looper blew a save in the 9th by allowing 2 runs. They're now tied in the 10th and the Nats are threatening.

The funny thing about this is that after falling behind 8-0, Frank Robinson decided to yank Jose Guillen and Jose Vidro, both playing with nagging injuries, and get them a little rest. So the Nats went on to come back without two of their best players in the lineup.

Looks like the Mets need to bring up Shinjo from the minors.

"Who is Tsuyoshi Shinjo? Who is he?"

In other news, Felix Hernandez is awesome (he really is, his stuff is electric. he was popping 96-98 consistantly through 8.0IP, and his curve fell off the table AND hit for strikes), the Indians won again, the Red Sox got Red Smacked (4-2; inept offense vs. Ervin "Johan Jr." Santana), and Oakland lost 2-1 to KC.

A nice, nice side story:

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- A particularly vocal contingent of Minnesota Twins (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/teams/min/) fans spent much of batting practice and the first few innings of Saturday night's game heckling Richie Sexson (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/5931/), telling him he had ``warning track power.'' Those taunts sure seem silly now.

Sexson hit a grand slam in the 10th inning and had a solo homer for five RBIs to help the Seattle Mariners (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/teams/sea/) snap the Twins' six-game winning streak with an 8-3 victory Saturday night.

``Those people were yelling that at me all day long,'' Sexson said with a bewildered sigh. ``I didn't hear them after a while. They didn't say anything.''
