View Full Version : Lineup Ideas for Tomorrow

What does everyone think the lineup should be for tomorrow? This is my opinion.
1. CF Rowand
2. 2B Iguchi
3. RF Dye
4. 1B Konerko (Assuming he is OK tomorrow)
5. C Pierzynski
6. 3B Blum
7. LF Anderson
8. DH Ozuna
9. SS Uribe

Everett obviously needs a day off, and Crede has been a disaster lately. We should give Ozuna a shot at DH because he's not great in the field. Pierzynski is not an ideal cleanup hitter, and I think Jermaine takes more pitches than Everett does to be in the third spot tomorrow.
Thoughts? Alternate Lineups?

Gooch
Rowand
Everett
Konerko
AJ
Dye
Crede
Anderson
Uribe

Uncomparable to:

Podsednik
Gooch
Thomas/Everett
PK
Rowand
Dye
AJ
Crede
Uribe

This slump is gonna continue until Pods is back, Crede is healthy, and Dye gets out of this terrible slide ... And when Timo stops leading off

If Konerko can't play then Timo should play first base and hit fourth. Timo has been the PTC in his last two starts. He will probably keep playing and leading off.

On a personal note, I am very happy to see Timo and the Sox playing. In New york I only get a small amount of the Sox games. I could probably watch 80 Cubs games if I wanted to...which I don't.

I don't have a problem with any lineup where Timo is not the leadoff hitter. Here is what I would do-

1. Ozuna
2. Gooch
3. Everett
4. AJ
5. Rowand
6. Dye
7. Anderson
8. Blum
9. Uribe

God I hope Ozzie doesn't use WSI's PTC contest to fill out the line up card.

Here's a line-up:

Iguchi 2b
Vizquel SS
Griffey DH
Konerko 1B
Dye RF
Pierzynski C
Rowand CF
Gload LF
Mackowiak 3B

Would it be that difficult to make the deals to make this happen?

Stick the names in a hat and pull them out. It can't be any worse then the results the past few weeks.

Haha. I thought this right before I saw your post as I scrolled down. What the hell would be the difference? Without Pods, there's really not much difference between most of these guys.

Yea,there have been times during years past, where that was done and sometimes it works.
Ozzie has said that he wants his guys to have fun and enjoy this thing.
Well,we all know that its pretty hard to enjoy a long losing streak but i say go ahead and throw the names in a hat and see what happens.

Yes, it would. "Let me hear ya"? Hmmmmm.

Why would it be difficult? Waiver wire issues? I'm not familiar with all the rules so maybe you're right.

Mackowiak is a real upgrade at 3d, lefthanded hitter and born and raised a die-hard Sox fan. Think he wouldn't be loving this? Give them Crede and a low prospect. I don't think Pittsburgh has him in their long range plans.

Vizquel? Make me an offer SF. I'd throw them Uribe and a mid to high prospect.

Griffey? I'd eat the contract. As a DH, he'll likely remain healthy [140-150 games a year] and will put people in the seats. The revenue will be made up to cover his contract. But remember, JR would rather send that revenue to his partners than spend it on winning a championship. Sorry for the cold reality of being a die hard Sox fan.

Ozzie is blind. Him and timo need to break up.

Perez, LF ... Iguchi, 2B ... Everett, DH ... AJ, C ... Rowand, CF ... Dye, RF ... Crede, 3B ... Blum, 1B ... Uribe, SS ...

We can't afford to tread water any longer.....Ozzie needs to put Iguchi in the lead off spot until Pods is back. Wake up Ozzie....you only have two players on your team in double digits in SB's without Pods....a .220 hitter with no speed does not belong in the #1 spot!

The beat goes on. What's the o/u on runs today? 0.5?

Again, we're putting our pitcher in a "no room for error" situation. We get behind by 2 early, might as well pack it in, a la Wednesday. And just like that game and yestersay, the Sox have to score runs in the 1st... not leave them on base.

The team looks so dead and lifeless lately. They need a shot of some excitement on of the field, and from watching Anderson in his first two games, he at least brings some youthful energy to the field when he plays. He looks excited and seems like he tries hard and hustles. Obviously, he strikes out a lot I guess, but everyone else just pops out so what's the difference.

Then again, maybe it's just the bushy hair that makes him look that way

It's as if Ozzie doesn't even care anymore with the lineup he's putting out today. He's putting out the same lineup that didn't have a chance to score last night and just looked lifeless. We need Gload up first of all if Konerko is going to be out awhile which he may be. Timo is a disaster in that leadoff spot and Crede has to start hitting.

All I am saying is that he has been the best player in his last couple of starts. Now isn't the time to complain about him.
