Read this from the article "Down the stretch they come!" on MLB.com, it is about the 1906 white sox.

"...Highlanders (pre-Yankee days) overtook them briefly in September, but Sox pitchers dominated and Chicago's AL team finished with a three-game lead and then lost to the Cubbies in the third Fall Classic."

This is just bad.

This writer should be fired. Mark Newman of MLB.com, you are a disgrace!

I emailed the tool...

Mark,

As you're probably not aware, the 1906 Chicago White Sox beat the Cubbies in the World Series. This is an insult to all Chicago White Sox fans and baseball historians. I hope that this inexcusable error is corrected as soon as possible.

Thank You.

This is something I would expect from ESPN, not MLB.

On the MLB page of Yahoo Sports, one of the headlines right now is "Prior, Woods team up in Cubs win (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/recap?gid=250814116)". A Sox media victory!

Fixed.

The Highlanders (pre-Yankee days) overtook them briefly in September, but Sox pitchers dominated and Chicago's AL team finished with a three-game lead and then beat the Cubbies in the third Fall Classic.

I was actually going to make a post about this. I couldn't help but shake my head at that one.

Looks like its fixed now. I'm more baffled that they are still trotting Wood out there rather than having him get his surgery out of the way.

Only 6.5 out of the Wild Card! Here they come!
