Meh...I am not too big of a fan of it. Where is the homerun line in CF, exactly?

We'll see if it ever happens, remember the Marlins thought they had everything ready to go as well last year. One difference... the story says the park will be built primarily with the owners money, that could make a big difference in California. (Do ya hear that Bud???)

Need to give them credit for being inventive with that centerfield brick/warehouse thing. Also looks like they keep the football field sized foul territory down the infield lines.

It looks very "pretty". Almost too pretty. A freakin' swimming pool and palm trees? Oakland has been playing in that hole in the ground for so long that this dandy looking thing really doesn't suit the team image. If anything, they should be playing in a cleared out junkyard bordered by a chain-link fence. Now THAT's the Oakland A's image.

This ballpark is definitely West Coast!

I hate the design. How do they expect the fans not sitting around the home plate area to see the scoreboard?

That's similar to SD, the Padres have the scoreboard next to the warehouse in LF. They have a scoreboard on the RF wall, that has the same info as what's on the big screen in LF.

I know. Where's that bitch Ryan Seacrest? Probably hanging out in the pool, because pools = baseball.

Some people in baseball think the SOX have that image.

When I saw it I thought it was a replica. I guess the warehouse is becoming popular.

35,000 seats? Kinda small, huh? Any way to keep White Sox games out of there?

I don't know about the cantilevered seating sections coming off that building in centerfield. What about the batter's eye? That looks like a nightmare.

I agree, the whole centerfield setup seems way too busy. Actually the whole park seems way to busy. Is that weird seating in left field supposed to resemble the letter "A" or something? Are those buildings actual existing buildings, or are they just going to build new buildings to give it a falsely old style quirky feeling to it?

It looks to me like they had an architect go at the design to make it cute and unique without really checking it for its practicality for baseball.

I will only approve of the new ball park if they ban those fans from blowing those stupid whistles! and blowhorns!!!!!!!!!!!!!:redneck

Wait, where's the Billy Beane shrine going to be? I heard a huge statue and prayer circle was supposed to be included in stadium plans.

No thanks. This is just a new generation of cookie cutter ballparks. All the new ones just rip off from previous ones. It looks an awful lot like Petco to me. Also, all the stadiums are too damn corporate, I went to minute maid park and it felt like a was going to a convention or an NBA game.

Not enough foul territory

Currently the proposed development site is all light industry and warehouses. From the sketch it looks like nothing existing will remain.

I don't like CF at all...

and 35,000 seats might not seem like a lot, but the new trend in ballparks is to lower seating in return for a ton of luxury boxes, which is what their doing in St. Louis.

How do they get those palm trees all the way up on top of that building by that pool? I can guarantee those won't be there in the real stadium.

I can see tons of changes happening to these plans, especially the center field wall.

I wonder what the percentage of parks with left field as the sun field is.

Memo to Oakland A's. Petco Park was already built.
That place is simply Petco Jr. This is the time in baseball architecture
where all the parks start looking the same now .........GREAT

Am I missing the bullpens? :?:

Or, did the chair throwing incident inspire the A's to get rid of them all together? :D:

Well, even though the park isn't very original and is also Petco-ish, it will still be better than that football stadium they play in now with the 700,000 feet of foul ground. Perhaps they'll ban the annoying horns and drums the A's fans bring to the games at the new park?

i like the foul line and infield seating (reminds me kinda like old comiskey), but the outfield seating sucks. It is too complicated.
