Rowand might be my favorite player on this team, at least on offense. How could you not like this guy? Even though he hasn't really gotten into a groove at the plate all year, he's always maintained a high average. He gets great jumps and has a rocket arm for a center fielder. He always hustles, he can steal a base, he's pretty clutch...Gotta love 33.

Its true I saw it on an E! True Hollywood story

why do yankee fans always believe that every major league player wants to play for them?

players only go to them when they need the cash.

The yankees are the ATM of the MLB.

Here's another thread - with reality setting in:

let's pretend we're not arrogant fans for once

He's signed through 2006 with a 2007 option.

I guess you'll have to pick whoever catches the next ball against the yankees to lust over.

LOL....which part did you find arrogant, the part about the rest of the MLB serving as our farm club, or the part about other GM's not being smart enough to realize they should keep their good players.

Why would the WS part with him? Maybe its time we develope our own CF and stop overpaying for other teams players.

This was my favorite Yankee fan rationalization:

If we can somehow scratch and claw our way to the playoffs we will be a very, very dangerous team.

Right! We'll get back to you in October . . .

I looove role reversals.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised that their fans have this mentality when their owner treats every off-season like he's won a department store shopping spree.

He's perfect for his year's Yanks. Bernie Williams on the Flubs (cuz he's goin on waivers) and Corey on the Yanks. I'm salivating over it now.

It's going to be funny when the Yankees don't even make the playoffs. I'd like to hear the excuses these morons come up with.

No real surprises. New Yorkers do tend to think Times Square is the center of the universe, so why shouldn't they think Rowand would be "auditioning for the Yankers. (BTW, "Yankers" is not a typo, just another name for the guys from the Bronx)
