He's still a little wild, but better control will come with time. Besides, when you throw 100 mph, a little wildness isn't a bad thing.

I'm in. The guy's lights out, and I just loove watching him pitch. I love hard throwers and that curve ball is just devastating. Whenever they say someones up in the bullpen, I hope it's Jenks just because i love watching him so much.

I'm DEFINITELY in. I'm actually pondering purchasing a Jenks jersey. I have never kneejerked a jersey before. I don't have a Singleton or a Snopek jersey. I don't own any current players jerseys on this team except Freddy and Frank. But I really like watching Jenks pitch - and I might just drop the cash on a Jenks.

It was hilarous watching Jenks pitch on the NO Network. After Sheffield hit that foul, the announcers were waiting for him to smash one out. Only problem was that he didn't, and he went through the meat of the yank's order 3 up, 3 down. Great Job Bobby!

How can you not love this kid?
He reminds me of the character,"wild thing' in the movie"Major League'.
With his great fastball and the fact that he looks just crazy enough to try and knock your head off,has to intimidate hitters.
Nice breaking ball also.

This kid is lights out. Definitely exciting to watch pitch. I've seen him hit 100 a couple of times a couple of weeks ago. He's got enough control I think to be "effectively wild" of course being able to throw upper 90's low 100's doesnt hurt either  I love getting fans around me who don't really know who he is to look at the Radar count in the corner after every pitch. He just amazes everybody.

So I guess what im saying is I'm in!

P.S. Anyone catch him hitting on one of the Pride Crew as they ran past him on the track Sunday?

I agree I was at the Cell for his debut and he just threw complete gas with a nice breaking ball and I was all over this kid. Then I went back and I saw him hit triple digits on the gun. I love this kid and hopefully he can either be the closer of the future, or maybe go back to a starting role.

Same here. I know he can't pitch 6-7 days per week, but every time
Ozzie goes to get someone else I'm a little disappointed.

I say don't bother with starting. This is the guy I want coming out for the last out in the 8th and the 9th in the playoffs. In fact, I think by the end of the season he just might take over Hermie's role, especially if his back flares up again. Jenks has already shown that he can go a couple innings, that IMO that makes a playoff closer. Whatever the case, our bullpen = opponent doesn't score from the 7th on.

I am highly considering buying a Jenks home jersey.

I like it! And it evokes dual meanings, too, since he appears to sweat a ton on the mound.

Im thinking that there will be no shortage of cool nicknames dreamed up for this kid soon.

Lets hope that if Hawks the one who hangs the moniker on Jenks, that he picks something as brilliant as the one he came up with for Frank Thomas.

Did anyone else see that CSN interview with Jenks about 2/3 weeks back. He was asked about his former drinking problem and shrugged it off as a real problem. He said something to the effect that he wasnt drinking all the time, but it was just that when he got in trouble he seemed to have been drinking. I got a great big laugh out of that. I am sure he meant it to come out another way.

Sign me up for the Jenks fan club.

Our bullpen is soo set up for the next couple of years with cotts, bobby, cliffy, hermy, marte and vizzy. This is the real diff on this team from the last few. If we had this bullpen the last 4 years we win at least twice.

thats good.

im thinking of making a hank hill sign for my next game with "thats my boy" attached.

ive been calling him 'bubba' for no reason and 'that boy' (as in 'that boy aint right' in my best hank hill impression after a strikeout)

once Casey "Mongo" Rogowski gets up here we will have some beefy guys with great nicknames.

I like Beef. I tried making the guy on mlb 2005 and he's impossible to make with his weight to height ratio. Although, it's expensive as hell to give him a great fastball and curve. He could be really good. The Angels didn't have the luck with him we did. Our pitching staff in AA deserves credit and so does Coop for working with him to get under control.
