When the Yankees (http://yesnetwork.com/yankees) get their first look at the White Sox (http://yesnetwork.com/sports/mlb/preview.asp?game_id=378626) tonight (YES, 7 p.m.), they'll find a familiar face on the mound: El Duque. Should the Yankees have re-signed him in the winter? With Randy Johnson (http://yesnetwork.com/ap.asp?ap_story_id=114296&is_local=1) and Carl Pavano (http://yesnetwork.com/ap.asp?ap_story_id=114361&is_local=1) ailing, some might say yes.

Oh lord, Timo at DH. Can't we just call up Anderson already?

Yea, Timo batting fifth is kind of weird.
Gotta love Ozzie.

I have to admit, I don't really mind seeing AJ there in that 3 spot. He has been doing pretty well lately as has Pauly. I really like this lineup aside from Timo in the DH spot. I wish Anderson was filling that spot. I think Borchard is even more intimidating the Timo is.

Fenway almost always brings some interesting stuff, when he comes over for a visit.

I'll go as far as saying that I'd rather have this man instead of Timo
:LTP
"Can I possibly be any more worthless than Timo?"

Unless you meant teal, I sure hope this should be "I think even Borchard is more intimidating than Timo is."

Or, is Timo more intimidating that we realize?

I guess I'm a little harsh on the guy. He has been decent in his starting role lately. At least, he's surpassed my expectations for him. I would rather have him in the outfield than Gload, but you'd think there's SOMEONE in the entire White Sox farm system who can do what Timo does with playing average Defense, and either hitting for average, or hitting for power, or stealing bases.

Yah that's pretty much what I meant. I just find it hard to believe Timo is still on this roster with all of the outfeilders we could be bringing up. I guess you could make a case for his experience or something but still. I would rather have Borchard or Anderson up here now instead of Timo.

No Williams, Womack in cf, Torre afraid of the sox going from 1st to 3rd on singles to cf. Womack's arm is marginally better than Williams, run and run until he shows he can throw you out, keep the pressure on.

Okay, here's the thing. Usually, the DH spot goes to a slugger, right? But it doesn't HAVE to. So maybe Ozzie is taking smartball a step further. And if we like what he's done so far--and I guess we do--I think we have to figure he's got his reasons, cut some slack, and wait to see what happens. Now, if he had El Duque batting for himself in the DH spot....

And as my wild Southside Irish grandma used to say, "The Yanks put their pants on one leg at a time, just like everybody else."

Damn, I SOOOO want us to beat these guys! 18-0 sounds about right!

Well, considering all the controversy, that might actually be a good thing.

How?

Well, complaints have been made and attention has been paid to him, and he knows it. Umpires are subject to scrunity, review, and if warranted, discipline. So I have to believe he'll be very careful in his umpiring tonight.

And through four, I obviously don't know what I'm talking about!

Ron Luciano was permitted to torment the Orioles with biased calls for almost a decade. Umpires are rarely disciplined for mis-calling games.

Sox lose 4-3 to the Yanks. Sox did not take advantage of each of thier opportunities. Unfortunately, El Duque gets off to a rough start once again. If he could only get off to a quick start and into a good grove he would have more wins.
