Cubs pitcher Kerry Wood (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/5982/) is pitching despite a damaged rotator cuff. A team source told the Chicago Tribune, Wood is likely to be shut down by September if management believes the Cubs have little or no chance to overcome the sizable deficit they face. Wood would then have surgery to clean up debris in his rotator cuff and labrum and, the team hopes, be ready to go by the start of spring training.

The Cubs plan to give Wood every opportunity to regain his role as a starter next year and since Wood's absence wouldn't seem to make a huge impact on their team or fantasy teams, shutting him down seems like the right thing to do.
Great idea
Seriously, continuing to let him pitch with yet another shoulder injury in an already lost season?
That organization is an embarrassment
When will they learn?
