Anyone else just love to see people bash Hawk? He's totally biased and I love it. It also makes me happy that he gets on the nerves of opposing fans.

Read them myself. I see 2 out of 3 is a good possibility. Like the fact Garcia pitches on the road during the day.

Just like in 2000. Then lets go to Boston and sweep them too. No one said we could sweep NY and Cleveland on the road in 2000 and we did so why not now!

Did you see the "Worst announcers" thread? Some guy actually took the time to email Hawk to tell him he didnt like his broadcasting style. God its amazing to me that these people think fans (and even broadcasters) of other teams care what they think. :D:

Also, after every time their guy K's a batter the announcer goes, "He gone!" Very annoying. I wonder how it is for a white sox fan though. My guess is it wouldn't be bad. Better than Kay who sounds excited when the opposing team scores a run.
This is why I love Hawk. This YankME fan obviously wants a homer for an announcer and acknowledges that Hawk is good if you are rooting for the Sox.

I love it too. cub fans complain about it. One think Hawk doesn't do is downgrade other organizations unlike santo.

They are so goddamn annoying. I remember last year one of the Yankees hit a liner up the first baseline and they go, "Get foul, get foul!!" And it did go just foul. I was so pissed.

It's the same annoying announcer.

Hopefully they'll be hearing a lot of these...

"Back goes Matsui... see ya. A home run for Paul Konerko, and the White Sox add to their lead."

You've got it wrong.

It's actually "Theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yankees win," which to my mind is even more vapid and annoying than what you suggested. Focusing on "Yankees" or "win" makes sense, but "the?"

Oh well, what I'm hoping for in this series is that Jose Contreras manages to pitch a good game, and preferably get a win. I'd almost be willing to settle for losing the series, two games to one, if Contreras could get the one victory, thereby shutting up Yankees fans who still want to insist their team got the better end of that trade.

Then again, who am I kidding? I'd like a three-game sweep by the Sox.

I think they're trying to talk themselves into some courage. They spend more time ridiculing our announcers than discussing baseball (weird website about Hawk, isn't it?). They seem to be concerned that Hernandez will show them up and our bullpen will shut them down. The rest of it is just BS. A bunch of empty proclamations and swagger.

The thing I do love about Hawk and DJ, they are TRUE Sox Fans. Brenly and the other cubs announcer, moron that yells " ANNNDDDD ITTTSSSS OUUUTTTTAAAA HEEERRRREEEEEEEE Derek Lee with the Solo Blast and the Cards lead shrinks to 5!!!!!" they dont care about the cubs. They do it for the paycheck. If and when Hawk steps down, you can be damned sure you would see him at the cell chearing on his Sox. Chippy and Stone, they are Cubs Bashers now, further proving they are the most over rated franchise in baseball!!!!

I ran into a Yankee Fan at christening party in my Girlfriends family. He first stated the entire season doesnt matter talk to him in October, no regaurds to the fact His team really may not be their in October. He took a look at my Sox bracelet, and then backtracked to, the Sox are a good team, just not playoff calibur. Then he said this week will be bad for the Sox because they face 2 world series calibur teams, because the Yankees were there 2 years ago, no reguard for the fact the team was entirely different. Now I normally would agree Boston is a great team as well, but what Red Sox nation fails to realize is Matt Clement and David Wells is NOT Pedro and Schilling, especially with Schilling looking like Danny Graves lately. And Wade Miller is NOT Derek Lowe. With Trot and Olerud out, The Offense is top heavy but really not the team it was in 2004.

This is exactly the kind of series we need, Take the Yanks and Boston, then Come home and whoop up on Minny, Really relight that explosive Fire and get the fans totally back into it, because, the last few games I was at, the Crowd seemed to die as Toronto and Seattle took the lead ( 8/2 and 8/5).

I saw exactly what I expected, a bunch of NY bravado. But, some of them do know their baseball.

Aaron Small has been their best pitcher in the last month. That Wednesday game should be a nice one.

Here's hoping the Cubans actually have human emotions and are extra motivated to pitch well the next two days.

I don't like the Yankees, so I'd prefer not to listen to him. But I am not going to bash him. Its no cheesier than Hawk's calls.

I remember once I posted to a Flubs board, asking exactly why they hated Hawk.

The best they could come up with is "When Sox games are on WGN, its the announcer's responsiblity to be fair because its national, as many fans of the opposing team are watching."

Huh?

There is nothing I hate more than the Vanilla-ization of sports broadcasting that the ESPN's of the world have caused.

Thats WHY WGN makes damn sure they show between every inning (when theyre on the road, 18 times a game) Cub fans in the opposing teams park right? Note how they NEVER do that for the SOX when theyre on the road .......... There were TONS of SOX fans at the KC, Dodger and Padre games I was at ........ and there were no Gratuitious "fan" shots like I see for the stinking cubs followed by the "look at these great fans"

Yeah, that usually means good things for him. I just hope Ozzie doesn't play the scrub lineup like he has a tendency to do in the last game of a series. I assume Widger will be playing because it's a day game after a night game. I just hope he doesn't sit Pods and/or Iguchi. With Everett out, the Sox don't need to take away any more offense.
