Just got back from tonight's game between the Joliet Jackhammers and the Kansas City T-Bones of the Northern League. The only reason I'm writing about this is that Luis Villareal of the Jackhammers pitched a no-hitter tonight, the first I've ever seen in person. Not a bad performance, either. He struck out 11 and walked 3.

The closest I ever came to a no-no in an MLB game was a Jack McDowell start where he went, iirc, 7+ before giving up a hit. As for pro games in general, I've been to two Kane County games where Cougars pitchers managed to go 8.1 innings before giving up a hit, one in 1991 and the other last year.

That's neat! I'm glad you got to see something special. :)

The closest I've ever been was Buehrle's one hitter in 2001.

Thats so weird that you mention that. I saw the West Michigan White Caps play the Beloit Snappers tonight and Beloit pitcher Kevin Slowey was 1 out away from a PERFECT GAME when a West Michigan player hit a jam shot bloop single just out of the 2B reach.

Aaargh! It was so close!!!

The Kansas City T-Bones?

I don't even want to know what their logo is. :D:

http://www.tbonesbaseball.com/ Ok, I peaked...I couldn't resist.

Wow. Just, wow. For a reasonable price, you can purchase the "Sizzle bobblehead!" http://tbonesbaseball.com/merchandise/?item_id=456&cat

The guys in KC are light years ahead of Brooks Boyer...

For $25, you can purchase the "Sizzle" BBQ set:

The Northern League is decent baseball at a decent price. I go to 3 or 4 Gary Railcats' games a year. I saw Pete Rose jr 2 years ago play for Joilet.

I too have never seen a No-hitter in person :(: The day before Nomar made his AA rehab visit to West Tenn. my wife and sister went to the game (my parents live down there) and the Cubs AA team was No Hit :D: We were also down there last year to see the Barrons the day before Scammy Sosa showed up
