Bullard (0-1, 5.66) is the probable starter tonight for Charlotte.

Haigwood (2-0, 1.03) goes for Birmingham.

Gio (4-1, 4.66) pitches for W-S.

Russell (5-5, 3.72) goes for Kanny. The I's hope to avoid being shut out for the 3rd straight game.

I listened to part of the Barons' game. In the team's defense James has been one of the hottest pitchers in the minors. Haigwood sounded outstanding. The one time Owens was retired, he hit a screaming liner with a man on third that the outfielder made a great play on. He's been en fuego. Nice pick up for KW.

Has Borchard figured out how to hit?

Has Borchard figured out how to hit?

He went on a streak to get back to .260 and has kind of hovered there for a couple weeks now. He was barely hitting .200 in mid-June, IIRC.

It seems like Owens is having a real nice year. With all this talk about Young, Sweeney and Anderson what kind of future could be in store for Owens?

Aw, c'mon! A 2-HR game deserves at least a mention. :D:

Stewart 1/2, 1 BB, 1 2B, .300

He also picked off a baserunner at 2B. I know he's repeating a level, but Stewart probably deserves more attention than he's received since he's been in the system. Our other C prospects are at low-A and rookie ball. Haigwood also has taken a huge step forward this season.

Brice was in the field again for Kanny. Does this mean the end of the short-lived pitching experiment?
