All those espn roamers hating on the cardinals like that... sad.

Poor Cards. They are never getting the credit they deserve. I happen to think Pujols is pretty good myself. Oh well, I wouldn't mind seeing WhiteSox/Marlins.

I heard a rumor that the Sox signed Ditka. If this is true then I think that all the other mlb teams will just forfeit the season to the Sox.

We will play ourselves and win the WS in 7 games when Ditka seals home to score the winning run in the bottom of the 9th.

Wonder what would happen if they had a poll about the Cubs and Red Sox meeting in the WS?

Is anybody really shocked that a poll emanating from ESPN would have these results. Unfortunately for them, the Yankees can't play the Red Sox in the WS.

Even the Sox Army can't drastically sway these numbers.

Is this one of the first teams in history flying wayyy under the playoff radar with by far the best record in the major leagues?

Ol' No. 2

Currently "No" has 85% of the vote...Stastically speaking, it's probably the correct answer. Even if each team has a 50% chance of making it to the WS, the odds of both of them making it become only 25%.

I think the 85% is a bit high, though.....

Well, back in 2000 the Sox and Giants had the best records in the regular season and neither made the World Series...

I think it's more likely for the Sox to get to the World Series than the Cards simply because the Sox don't have to face Atlanta's and/or Houston's pitching staff. The AL opponents are going to be teams relying more on slugging, and I'm just fine with that. I don't worry more about having to score a couple runs off a dominant pitcher like Clemens than four or five or more off a guy like Arroyo or Wells. Even Schilling and Mussina don't scare me in the least.

Nine little Ditkas, that'd be great!
