Per ESPNEWS, Ryan Franklin tests positive for steroids and will be suspended for 10 days. I wonder if these are old samples they are testing, or do these people actually thing they can still get away with cheating?

He was scheduled to start against the White Sox on the 5th. I wonder if that's a good thing or a bad thing for the White Sox..

These guys can't be this dumb can they? Someone has to be giving these guys something that they claim does not have anything in it and unfortunately it does. Do these test a couple of years ago you have a different story but they can not be this stupid now. Maybe they are though and I feel sorry for there stupidity.

Probably good. He's been pretty tough against the Sox.

While reading the article, I didn't know that Betancourt for Cleveland had tested positive this year.

That's two relievers from our division

Something weird always seems to happen to a team right before we play them.

10 games is a fricking joke! 40 games for the first offense is what this and other jokers derserve. 10 games is a slap on the wrist. MLB needs to address right away. To quote a drunken John Wayne, "It's gettin' to be re-god-damn-diculous!"

However stoopid they may or may not be, they sure think we (the fans) are plenty stoopid. Sad thing is, many of us (fans, excluding Sox fans, of course) are pretty frikkin' stoopid.:o:

From mlb.com:

Right-handed pitcher Ryan Franklin received a 10-day suspension for violation of the Major League Baseball Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program on Tuesday.

Franklin, who helped Team USA capture the gold medal during the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia, has a 6-11 record and team-leading 4.61 ERA in 22 games, including 20 starts. He was scheduled to start Saturday night's game against the White Sox in Chicago.

Wow, after now five pitchers (is that right?) being suspended for using a banned substance, it seems that hitters are not the only ones juicing up...

While I kind of like the last sentence the most (wasn't Franklin a Sox killer? or am I wrong), the only bad part about that is we might have to face another pitcher that we don't know and he'll pitch like Cy Young against us...again...

Not just that, but I think this one is stated as 10 days, and though it may not help a starting pitcher, it would help any other team who had a day off in the stretch, such as the Orioles and Palmeiro. I thought they straightened this out in the hearings, but they are still giving days instead of games. But yes, I agree that 10 is a joke, and I think it should be get caught a second time and you're gone. If I'm interviewing for a job, and fail a drug test, bye bye job.

To quote a drunken John Wayne, "It's gettin' to be re-god-damn-diculous!"a 10 game suspension for a starter is even more of a joke. he will miss at most 2 starts. why don't they have these penalties.. 1st test-2 years 2nd test-life. That would get the point across.

Exactly. Under the current policy you could get caught FOUR times and still be able to play after you serve your suspension. If you're stupid enough to get caught a second time then you should be gone forever.
