Don't take me as dumb, I got a pretty good idea of how a waiver trade works, but can someone tell me the exact details on a waiver deal?

This site has a good description of some of the more common terms in baseball. Scroll down to view the waivers rules...

Quick and dirty: A general manager lists a player on the waiver list. If no one in either league puts in a waiver claim on that player, then he can be traded to any team regardless of the trade deadline.

If teams put in claims, the owning team can either withdraw the waivers and keep the player, or let him go for the waiver price (what is it, $20K?). If more than one team claims him, he goes to the claiming team lowest in the standings of his own league, or if only teams in the other league claim him, to the lowest standing team in that league.
