just curious, what time do the BoSox play today?

I just saw this and was gonna post it. This is going to be interesting. He was originally in the lineup and was a late scratch, so this isn't a scheduled say off. Either he came up sick/injured at the last minute, or something is up. Time to watch and see if Aubrey Huff gets pulled, Mike Cameron sits, etc.

Edit: Mike Cameron is actually starting in right field and batting 3rd for the Mets tonight.

He was in a heated conversation with Schilling before the game. /drama

This changes a lot of things, perhaps Manny will traded.

I need Aubrey in there for my fantasy team....He's been on fire

I suppose I can accept his sitting tonight if he's hitting 3rd and DH'n for the WHITE Sox tomorrow

Cameron just batted for the Mets. That game started at the same time as the Red Sox game. Interested to see what is going on.

Manny will not be traded per ESPNews just a few seconds ago.

Sources were supposedly the Baseball Tonite Crew so take it for what its worth.

Well, if Cameron and Huff aren't pulled from the lineup, that can mean only one thing; Manny is boarding his flight to Baltimore for tomorrow night's game.

That can't be pink enough. :D:

You got that part right. And you just know if the end we're gonna be extremely disappointed when we find out that Manny was pulled because he has cramps or something.

This is funny watching the Red Sox broadcast. They're analyzing every little move. Francona just disappeared into the tunnel for a minute and then came back out. Every little move is gonna be watched for some sign of something until the Red Sox make an actual announcement as to why Manny was pulled.

Good observation about the Red Sox broadcast. What I can't figure is the accent of the color guy. It's half Boston/half normal.

Per the Red Sox radio announcers, ESPNews is saying Manny will be be traded to the Mets (opening the door for the possibility of another suitor for Manny). Maybe Boston will return him to Cleveland.

Timo is a clubhouse leader. That latin dance he did in the dugout with Uribe and Willie has to increase his trade value exponentially.

This opens the door more for a Huff/Baez to the White Sox deal than Manny heading to the southside, in my opinion. I had a feeling this would fall apart at soon as Heilman's name entered the discussion. I don't think the Mets are willing to give him away.

You could be right. You'd better submit that column quickly though before Gammons steals your material...

I can see that. The reports last night were that talks really started to break down when Boston asked for another "key" player from the Mets.

Per the BoSox broadacst, Ramirez is sitting out not because he has been traded, but because of the hype surrounding possible trades, which I don't really get.

It might have something to do with all the boos he got last night. Ortiz was talking about how inappropriate it was considering "all Manny's done for the fans."

More than anything, fans like to win games. Manny's bat in the lineup can make that happen. I agree that this is very strange.

The only thing that makes sense is if something was said before the game or in the clubhouse that PO'd Francona or Epstein or something.

He also was supposedly involved in an argument with Schilling.
I'm fine with the Sox going after Huff (Baez is a tad overrated IMO), but I don't want to see them giving up the farm for him. One hi-level prospect and a mid-level/reliever would be doable, but moron LaMar wants 2 hi-level guys. KW is probably waiting for the price to drop down before he does anything.

Off-topic, but...the Twins are rumored to be interested in Soriano. I just don't see this happening; he's making way more than the Twins could pay him, and he's not a defensive-minded 2B.

Right, but I don't see how his sitting out helps that cause. If anything, it hurts it since it basically says to the fans "You boo him, you don't get to see him play." I would have played him and tried to make everything seem back to normal. Of course, maybe he has been traded and this is just the cover to keep Gammons from soiling himself down there in his box seat.

I was referring more to Manny refusing to play because he got boo'd the night before. He seems like a giant baby, so that scenerio wouldn't surprise me at all.

Ah, I see. Manny seems to be a baby in that he'll say something one minute and then forget about it the next minute. I'll bet facing Kyle Lohse would have made him really eager to play.:D:
