They just showed Jim Beattie being interviewed. Larry Bigbie may have been traded to the Rockies for Eric Byrnes.

I don't get this deal for Baltimore. Both guys have comparable stats, and Bigbie is the younger guy.

When Byrnes was traded from the A's to the Rockies, I was just glad to get even one of the Oakland Sox-killers out of the AL (1 down, 24 to go). Now, not only is he back, but he's coming to the team the Sox are playing this weekend. Yuck.

I don't even understand this trade...

It's like the Gerut-Dubois trade except this time with decent players with potential.

It's just a swap of decent players that will have no more than a marginal impact on their new team...

Sometimes these trades work out well.

Our Cameron/Konerko trade was sort of like that. Everybody won in that deal. And it was 2 players who had talent, but for some reason couldn't get it together. After that trade, they did.

true. I like Byrnes. He's an Aaron Rowand/Carlos Beltran type of player.

plays a good center. pop in the bat. decent speed.

I dunno much about Bigbie though.
