there must be some kind of mistake

prior never loses (or gives up runs for that matter)

And now he is getting to the bag late. What a lazy SOB. You can just tell by the way he acts that he thinks the world owes him something.

I Looooove seeing Prior get shelled! That was great to watch!

Unfortunately, it looks as if the Messiah's settled down and someone named H Blanco hs two RBIs for the Cubs? I think Pujols will smack one soon.

Good thing for TLR that Ken Harrelson isn't the Cardinals' GM.

Grr...if only Hawk was announcing the game. He would've gave it a "get foul" and it'd still be a tied ballgame..

I watched the first inning because it was my first expeirience of ESPN HD (stunning picture quality by the way), 'gag with a spoon' would explain the commentating. They kept going on and on about how the Flubs were a good team, twisting stats, and when there was a stat that was bad, they said "that's a surprising stat for a good team". What? Even while having the luxury of going against the NL bottom feeders in their division and a weak NL in general, have they even broke .500?

You want to talk about golden horseshoe up the rear end...look where that HR landed.

At least the scrubs meltdown in the bottom of the 9th was fun to watch. Wish Pujols would have been able to get a hit in his at bat.

Forget about us being on Pages 1-7 of either sports section this week or next after this.

Geez, it just occurred to me. Imagine what would happen here at WSI if we blew a game like that!

Dig up some old threads from any game Koch blew. Especially the 4th of July game in '03 or the game in June last year on a Sunday night on National TV in Seattle where he entered the game with a comfortable lead in the 9th and the Sox lost. Those were classics.

Sox retain a 2.5 game lead over the Cards for best record in all of baseball.

Silver linings, folks. Silver linings.

Or how about the 2004 opener in KC last year. I wanted to stick my head in the oven after that one.

We dont allow Flubs players in our fantasy league.

No. Having the regular season's best record is fine, but I want us to have the best record in the 2005 World Series.

Thank you. Though it's probably just a matter of time before the Cards overtake the Sox (the rest of the NL looks like a bunch of minor league teams by comparison), I'm not ready to relinquish the title of "Best Team In Baseball" just yet.

IMO, if you're more Sox fan than Cub-hater, this was one of those weird series (Twins vs. Indians, for example) where you feel pretty okay no matter who wins.

Do me a favor...don't EVER mention that game again. I am trying to erase it from my memory.

I consider myself much more of a Sox fan than a cub hater, but I was definitely rooting for the Cards in this one. As you said, even if the Cardinals have a better overall record playing against a watered-down NL, I don't care if they're #1 in some mediot's weekly "Power Ranking."

Until baseball becomes college football and they award championships via media poll and computer rankings, I'm not going to worry about who calls us the "best team in baseball" in July. I'll just worry about beating the Cards...on the field...in October. And if the cubs happen to go 0-64 before then, more power to them.

Sorry. I am, too. Someone mentioned OD last year in KC, I had erased that one already and it came roaring back......
