i've argued balks before in baseball games (being the catcher)...i've gotten 3 overturned for no reason other arguing that my pitcher 'can do that'

Funny Article. But I'm still not convinced that it wasn't Gammons and Will on that infamous ether binge of '78. :roflmao:

Hahaha, that was excellent. I got a good friend who's an O's fan, I'm gonna have him post it at Orioles Hangout or Camden Chat.

That sure summed it up nicely with some good humor to it as well.

I loved that. Thanks. One of my favorite parts of every baseball game are the fans that yell out "BALK!!" when they know perfectly well that they wouldn't know what a "balk" was if it landed on their face and started to wiggle.

Usually when the pitcher makes the move to first or second (or sometimes third) but doesn't throw the ball.

The article "The Top 50 People in need of a Vicious Beating" was pretty funny too.

I think most here would agree with #36 on that list (http://www.thephatphree.com/Features.asp?SectionID=1&StoryID=1111&LayoutType=103)....:D:

Top 50 People Who Need A Vicious Beating

#36:
Skip Bayless

The Professional Hater. It is one thing to dish out humorous hate on a comedy site. It is a very different thing to do it for real under the guise of credible journalism. Skip is just a punk who can’t craft an interesting story without resorting to blatant bashing and baiting. Do your ****ing job and cover sports like a sportswriter, you sensationalist hack.

I secretly love the double standard of reactions on balks. To me it is another great part of a great game.

No argument here, it's great. But the exclusion of Moronotti is disturbing. I know, he's a small fish in a large pond, but so was #36--once upon a time.

What is the origin of A CAN OF CORN?

Who first used it and when?

I know, he's a small fish in a large pond, but so was #36--once upon a time. No, he's gone national, even more so than Bayless. He's a regular on "Around the Horn" and last week, much to my horror, filled in on "Pardon the Interruption."
