I know if you mention the cubune on this site, it immediately gets moved, but I think his column today has a legit point that has some merit to it and should be kept, and discussed here.

It's the article about comparing the mariners and the sox, and their fates in the playoffs. The basic jist was, the mariners were used to winning (their 116 games) by offense, and then in the playoffs, their offense cooled a bit. But, as we all well know, offense isn't why the sox are 62-30. The pitching, defense and timely hitting his. And that's what wins games in the playoffs. So basically, the sox are winning games right now the way teams win them in the playoffs.

I dunno, perhaps there aren't many points in this article that are that discussable, but i thought it was an interesting theory.

Or a better version (regular season wise - so far anyway) of the '03 marlins
