Yeah, I know the Sox won't make a run at him, but hey, we can dream, right?

The question is why the Sox would make a run at him?

I personally don't think they should, but there is that faction of fans who wouldn't mind bringing him in.

If Crede is still a year away, a deal for Rolen would make sense. that's assuming the Sox are looking to win, not just contend...so it'll never happen.

Because he's a great player maybe? A player who is better than Joe Crede and probably better than Joe Crede will be.

I'll take the chance on Crede.

Rolen is simply the kind of player you can't pass up. He has no major flaws in his game. He hits for average and power and draws walks. He also plays gold glove defense. How could you rather have Crede?

Rolen's injuries are behind him, that's no longer an issue. His injury-plagued years were 1999(only played 112 games) & 2000(only 128 games). :(:
1997-156 games
1998-160 games
2001-151 games

I do agree that we would have to give up a too much for him, if he's gonna just walk away after the 2002 season. :?:
