I have noticed that over the last few games,Joe Crede has grown
Mutton Chop sideburns. For thise not old enough to remember,
"Mutton Chops" are sideburns that grow so far down your cheek,
they almost look like a mini-beard (minus the mustache).
Before he grew his beard,Beuhrle had a nice "old school" set
of mutton chops as well.

Seeing Crede and his new 'burns brought back memories
of old Sox sluggers Bill Melton and Dick Allen in their prime.

So,what do you guys think about the look??
The 'Chops bring back memories of the 1972 season,
when Allen was the A.L. MVP and Melton hit in the clean up
hole intil an injury ended his season.

I e-mailed Hawk on July 4th and asked him if he ever had mutton chops like the ones Crede was attempting to grow :D:. As far as I know he never answered.

Now if he could magically "grow" a healthier back and about 30-50 more points in the batting average to go with those 'burns...

He has no batting gloves, either. Oh..and he hit a double.

I'm indifferent. At first, I thought they looked pretty funny, but now I really don't notice. As long as he the same glove, I'll be fine.

After further review, he looks stupid. I'm just not into the whole retro thing.

I like it, he seems to be looser. I think I heard Hawk say that he had everyone on the floor rolling a few weeks ago

Probably just me but to me it kinda makes him look a little bit like Ross Gload.

I like them. He doesn't look so much like a gawky little teenager anymore. I've also noticed that he's been wearing the knee high socks more this season.

Clutch go ahead 3-run home run. I don't care how the guy looks... He's looking good to me!

Big night for the Sox we all seem to love to hate. Congrats Joe and Paul!

If he keeps hitting like he is tonight, he can look like Johnny Damon for all I care :D:

I don't care, but I don't mind it. Shows a little attitude, which is nice to see out of the mild-mannered Crede.

He's been playing well with them!
