Yeah, British rule blew; I don't want to take anything away from our Founding Fathers and what they fought for. But, really, could some high-priced tea and a little billeting here and there be nearly as bad as facing Bitch Sox rule of the AL Central for the whole freakin' season?

I think not. In the last couple seasons, the Twins have governed the Central, but they haven't been obnoxious about it. They haven't been grabby. We liked to exercise a kinder, gentler leadership. We never seized hold of the division like some kind of power-mad pinstriped generalissimos—no, we asked nicely. We gave everyone else a chance.

But the Bitch Sox—no, no. They don't falter. They don't slump. They don't lose. Ever. And I'm here to say it's not nice. It's not just bitchy, it's fascist. And fascists are bad.

I love that line: "They don't falter, they don't slump, they don't lose. Ever."

Try telling that line of crap to Jamie Burke!

Every time I hear "bitch sox" I  .

Does she actually think that's remotely clever?

I mean "twinkies" "toons" "kittens" and "serfs" aren't exactly genius, but at least they're not just substituting an arbitrary curse word for a word in our name

p.s...her writing is like nails on a chalkboard. It's like reading the bunny blog but for baseball...

To all Twinkies fans:

12 games and counting...

:roflmao:

You can PRINT that!

Yes, yes she does. That's unfortunate.

Someone should tell Twinkies fans that they still have 12-13
games left against the "Bitch Sox".  If you ask anyone on the
Sox if this race is over, they'll laugh at you.A Podsednik quote before
the ASG tells the story.Allow me to paraphrase:

"We haven't won anything yet. There's still a lot of
baseball left to be played".

Still,it was great to see the Anaheim Angels of Los Angeles,
Orange County,copyright,United States of America,blah,blah,blah
take 3 of 4 from the Minnesota ball club.:D: :D: :D:

Hey,if we're called "Bitch Sox" by their fans,
what can we call Twinkie followers??

Other than losers,of course.:D: :D: :D:

Bitch Sox: what does that even mean? I always thought a suitable derogatory name would be Dirty Sox. This works on several levels:

a) it harkens back to the "dirty" goings on of 1919
b) our team doesn't wear white socks (can't we get our own name straight?)
c) no one likes dirty socks

But she seems married to Bitch Sox, so whatever.

the only thing it has in common is that it has the same number of syllables as white.

I think you all need to realize what she writes is satire. Taking it so seriously is a bit silly. Do you think she really thought Bret Boone would save the world? Bitch Sox is a bit extreme(i prefer White Sux) but you have to understand, no one but the fans of the team loves really good teams. Know a lot of yankee haters? I do. Its the price you pay for winning so much(id bet money the twinkies would trade records with you in a heartbeat if it becomes too much). Do you hate the twins more or less than the royals? Id assume more.

Im not trying to :dtroll:, just trying to explain.

If you want it to be something people from Minnesota would understand try something along the line of Hosers.

Why does everyone miss the point on this board. If she were calling us the slight sox, or the blight sox or anything it would be fine.

I think most people understand satire. But good satire is clever and funny. Her site is clever and funny at times, but the fact that she repeats "bitch sox" ad nauseum is testament to a greater lack of wit.

Think of all our "misnomers"

The cleveland Racist Toons or the Jndjans (their mascot, or the way their I looks like a J)

The Kansas City Serfs (that is, the opposite of someone royal)

The Murder City Kitties (a little baby tiger)

The Minnesota Twinkies. (creampuffs - based off how twinkie starts with twin)

There is a reason to our rhyme.

Now let's take the Batgirl approach

The Cleveland stupids
The Kansas City punk-asses
The Detroit buttheads
The Minnesota Jerks

See the difference?

Just kidding. Seriously tho, I like the aforementioned White Sux too. Bite Sox is another good one. We're better at this than our own rivals!

(Or perhaps more easily amused?)

Heh, yes i see the difference. However i think it is just the difference in people. Some people feel comfortable swearing even tho i agree, it does appear low class. Either way tho ive found Batgirl quite amusing tho apparently she needs to upgrade a lil in the class department.

swearing is absolutely fine. I don't take issue with that. I take issue with using swearing as a substitute for any real wit.

I wouldn't call them the Minnesota ****s, and I curse like a sailor.

I think when Batgirl calls them the Bitch Sox she is implying they(in the past) have bitched about lots of things. I dont think its exactly the same as just a bland swear word for the sake of using it. Kind of like saying The MN Crybabies or whatever. Kind of hard to be truly witty in this instance(making up names to insult the other team) no matter how incredibly witty you are.

Actually it's exactly the same as saying MN crybabies, which is something I would snore at just as much.

a stupid nickname, imo, and not at all clever, just like most of the overly "clever" turns of phrase on that "blog"

Leslie Monteiro's blog on the White Sox is much pathetic than Bat-Girl.com

His hatred on the Chisox is worse than Bat-Girl if anyone read his pathetic blog.
