Based on our schedule the rest of the way, I'd say no, but 108 wouldn't surprise me.

Amazing and incredibly fantastic that we are even entertaining these possibilities!

If we do win 110, we should take the Preseason Predictions thread and append it to the Dark Cloud thread.

If this includes three winning post-seasons series, count on it!

100 would be fine enough for me. 110 sure is a lot, I am not sure if they can win that many, but I am pretty sure they'll make it close. Just keep winnin', guys!

doesnt matter if we get to 110, all that matters is if we have saved some for the playoffs...i'd hate for october to roll around and everyones tired from playing the last month of the regular season like it was last game of the world series with a 10 game lead on the division

The magic number the SOX are looking for is 12 wins in the post season. GO SOX!

This is pretty funny that this comes up now. I was just reading a thread I posted earlier this year about the Sox reminding me of the 2001 Mariners. After reading it again today I was reminded of how many people thought I was nuts to compare the two.

Then again I don't think the Sox will win 110. Between 95-105.

We have too many games left against quality teams to start talking about 110 wins. We have 6 with the Yankees, 7 with Boston, 3 at Baltimore, 3 with the Angels, 4 at Texas and 14 with the Twins.

101 would be nice because it would break the franchise record of 100.

A world series victory though would be much nicer.

Savor the season. For the first time in my life, the Sox are playing a season where they haven't played a team with a better record.

The Sox got to 10 wins before they lost 5 times, and people said they would come back to earth. Making 20 wins before 10 losses, 40 wins before 20 losses and 60 wins(-plus) before 30 losses is an incredible pace -- .667 baseball would be 110-55. That comes out to 165 games, but maybe it includes a 3-game ALDS sweep. Even the 1917 Sox (100-54) didn't win twice as many games as they lost. What I want, what I really want, more than triple-digit regular-season wins is a huge double-digit October winning streak.

A man can dream.

Its interesting. I feel a bit bittersweet (for lack of a better term, maybe "scared"?) about this record we're amassing.

If we were 2 games down from MIN, and had a run at the end of the season to steal the division... I'd be wildly excited.

But now we kinda can't expect/be happy with anything less than a World Series win. So now I'm looking at just anticipating the playoffs for a few months, without a massive amount of excitement during the season.

Its all good, wouldn't have it either way. But I really don't care if we have 110 or 95 wins, as long as we win the division.

There are even some media people, who, as I recall, were telling us how much trouble the sox were in at the end of May, who are now talking about 110 wins.

I would be PERFECTLY HAPPY if the White Sox won 110 this season, as long at 99 of them came in the regular season.:D:

Downright Scary Fact:
The Sox are 61-29 right now.
If they go .500 the rest of the way, they will win 97 games!!!
That is ridiculous. I think we can win 110 games, but I wont care if we dont. I just want to win the World Series. I have loved every minute of this season (sans playing Oakland), but we haven't done ANYTHING yet. I would much rather rip my hair out all year with a .500 team, sneak into the playoffs with 86 wins and win the championship than win 110 regular season games and go home without a title. The 2001 Seattle Mariners will be remembered forever. Not for having a great record, but for choking. The Yankees only won 96 in 2001, but they beat the Mariners when it counted. The Yankees only won 87 in 2000, but they won the title. Screw regular season records.

I think 110 may be a bit of a stretch, but there's no doubt they should win 100 easily

current win percentage .678 * 162 games = 109.836 rounds to 110 wins

Heck - if we go .500 the rest of the way we still go 97-65. I'd like to think that the team with the best pitching staff in the AL and the best run differential in the AL could go pull out 105 wins, but to get 110 - which is the magic number, we'd need to go 49-23 the rest of the way, and that's with 13 against the Yankees, Boston, more Twins and Angels...

Not saying it's not possible, but it will be tough to do, but I'd love it all the same.

After Monday's game, current win percentage of .681 * 162 games = 110.37 (no rounding required).
