Kanny lost 8-7 in an early completion game (7IN); Harrell 5.0IP, 7 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, 3.78
Hansen hitting well 2/4, 2 2B, 2 RBI, .274
Berry 2/3, 1 3B, 1 RBI, .281

W/S lost 4-3 to Myrtle Beach; Broadway with his first loss 5.0IP, 9 H, 2 BB, 4 R, 3 ER, 6 K, 3.16
Hall 2/4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, .337
Schnurstein 2/4, 1 RBI, .285

B'ham won 7-5; Phillips was solid going 5.2IP, 5 H, 2 BB, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 HR, 2 K, 2.59...the bullpen almost blew it, and blew a save situation, but Ortiz got the win late.
I'm not sure why, but Chris Young hasn't played the last two games.
Stewart 2/5, 1 R, 1 HR, 1 2B, 3 RBI, .296
Sweeney 2/4, 2 R, .283
Fields 1/5, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 Error(his 19th!), .249

Charlotte won 9-8; Diaz was not so good, 5.0IP, 8 H, 3 HR, 6 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 5.51...Baj with the blown save and the win going 1.2IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 1 BB, 2 K, 1.07
Deja vu...big days again for:
Gload 4/5, 2 R, 1 2B, 2 HR, 4 RBI, .385
Anderson 3/5, 2 R, 1 RBI, 1 HR, .299
Daigle 2/4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, .282
LTP 1/3, 1 BB, 2 RBI, .256

Man, Gload is tearing it up!

What I will say next is very hypothetical, and actually kind of pointless, but I guess maybe worth a thought or two (not necessarily consideration). But, if and only if something goes down where KW picks up a 3B or something who can perhaps also play 1B, what about actually leaving Ross in AAA until mid to late August or so? The only reason I'm even mentioning this is because he is playing regularly there and is posting a whopping .385 AVG, 7 2B, 8 HR, .424 OBP and a .667 SLG for an OPS of 1.091 in only 27 games! Ross is really piling on the power numbers down there and it could be interesting to see what he would be able to do down there if he stayed a little bit longer. His minor league career high in HR's 18 but he did have 40 2B's for Charlotte in 2003. After last season's showing, would anyone think it might be worth it to let him try to further develop some more power down there? Perhaps he could audition for a starting job?

You know what this is doing? It's making KW think: "Hmmmm.....maybe I can get away with taking on more salary ala Mike Lowell to give up less and still get Burnett. I could replace Konerko with Lowell+Gload at a similar salary, and get another frontline starter."

Kanny also finished the rain delayed game from the previous night and won 7-1. Nice combined pitching performance by Liotta, Moat, and Hurd. Getz played SS and went 2-5, SB, 2 R, E, .388. Smith homered twice. Lucy 2-3, 2 RBI, .329. Ricks and Berry also had 2 hits each.
