I think if the Phillies fall out of contention, they have 2 or 3 interesting lefties in their that the Sox should look into. Any thoughts?

My thought is that why would you bring this up and then not name the players that you had in mind.

Those are all the ones that have any value to us.

Wishful thinking? Or do you see a possibility?

Wishful thinking? Or do you see a possibility?I don't see any reason why not. I don't see the Phillies seriously contending, so I think it's likely that Wagner gets traded. The question is, the price. Do you think Willie Harris, Joe Borchard and Kevin Walker is too much?

Why would the Phillies trade a pitcher in Myers who makes less than $500,000 and is only in his third year in the majors?

What a joke.

No, but a logjam in the outfield may help us attain him. I'm sick of the bs trade threads, so thats why I asked if you were serious. I think that if they fall, we could package a outfielder, perhaps a willie, or another for one of those relievers, I don't think they'll give up on Madson, he's young, but those others, especially Wagner are intriguing.

i think billy wagner would be a tad bit expensive for a set-up man
i hope your all thinking of using his as set-up in the first place, because if anyone wnats a new closer...20for21 over a hard fastball is always good

Fultz is a generally crappy journeyman, having a good year. His price should be REAL cheap.

Myers is certainly a promising pitcher, enjoying his first good year in a short 3 year career. I don't think you can count on him to be a stud pitcher, but he may end up being one.

At No 2's price, okay, give me wagner.

Are the phillies really peddling Utley? Well, we don't need a 2B, so can he play multiple positions?

Billy Wagner will probably be traded before the break. However, I think the price will be fairly high for him, and I don't think KW would trade Brian Anderson, Bmac, and another lower-down minor leaguer to get Wagner when Hermanson is converting around 90% of his saves.

I doubt they are peddling him, they traded Polonco to make room for him, I know he's played some first base, don't know about any other positions

How much are they paying Wagner? Something tells me it's good money and when teams spend good money they don't like to show the fans they are giving up on the season.

Wagner is making $9 million this season, I believe.

If he were to be acquired on July 31, the receiving team would be on the hook for $3 million of it.

Wagner is a free agent after this season.
