Just saw him on Conan, and he mentioned he was born on the South Side of Chicago and went to a Catholic School for Boys there. Anyone ever see him around the park?

A buddy of mine watched a Sox game in a bar on the south side and John C. Reilly's brother sat next to him. My buddy said that John's brother is a huge Sox fan but he didn't ask if John's a Sox fan too.

Something tells me that if John is a big Sox fan too, he would have mentioned it on Conan.

He went to Brother Rice and spoke to my son's graduating class. My son was lucky enough to get to show him around to see all the changes to the school. Sox fan and a great guy per my son.

Don't you need to be a celebrity to be a celebrity Sox fan?:?:

From IMDB:

Reilly was brought up on Chicago's tough Southwest territory.

Well he's a helluvalot bigger celebrity than most of the sad C and D-Listers that made the list in that previous thread of "Celebrity Sox Fans."

That is, assuming he even likes baseball.

It is entirely possible that even though the guy is from the South Side, he couldn't care less about the Sox, Cubs or baseball in general. :o: :D:

The man got a Best Supporting Actor nomination for "Chicago".

I read an article a while ago (maybe when he was nominated for Chicago) where he said that he was a big Bears fan, but didn't have a strong baseball allegiance because he felt it divided the city too much. IIRC, the article also said he had worked at Soldiers Field. Knowing he was from the south side, I found that surprising/disappointing. Who knows, maybe he was just being diplomatic.

I suspect you are thinking of Jon Kelley, who did sports for Channel 5 and is now an entertainment reporter. John C. Reilly is a terrific, Oscar-nominated actor.

I was surprised at how few movies he's been in. I really thought I've seen him alot more often than that.

He was great in The Aviator and is also starring in the Jennifer Connelly move that opened this past Friday, hence the talk show circuit.

Well I think the reason he didn't mention being a Sox fan was because this was an old episode which originally aired some time last winter, before the season started.

Hey, let's not forget State of Grace. Never heard of it?

Rent it!

That is, rent it only if you like gritty stories Hell's Kitchen and the Irish mob. Sean Penn, John Turturro, Gary Oldman...one of my faves.

Warning, graphic Guinness depictions.
