From rotoworld.com:

White Sox optioned LHP Kevin Walker to Triple-A Charlotte.
Walker had given up seven runs in seven innings over two stints for the White Sox this season.

Thank God.

So will Gload be called up or is this for Hernandez to come off the DL?

So we have an open spot on our team? No one was brought up?

From the forums mainpage, I saw "Official: Walker sent to"

I was hoping it would be Hell, but I guess Charlotte is good enough. As long as he never pitches for us again, I will be happy.

This is the definition of addition by subtraction. :D:

A bit extreme don't you think?

This is great. Walker has got to be one of the worst pitchers in America.

Well, if Ozzie did send him to hell, there would be no way he pitches for us again. In Charlotte, he is only one injury away from being back on the big league club. IT WAS A JOKE.

Hey, Jackson was horrible, but he was Rollie Fingers compared to Walker. At least Jackson had a respectable era somewhere in the 7's.

It's not too late to add a traveling companion for Walker on his trip back to Charlotte:

Do you mean major league pitchers? Because I know I suck pretty bad.

Can we add Vizcaino to that list?

Damaso Marte will be activated after the All-Star break on Thursday versus the Indians.
Kevin Walker was optioned to Triple-A earlier today to make room for Marte.

This basically opens the roster spot for Marte to come back from the DL after the ASG. Another move will have to be made to get El Duque Back, Jenks will go back down. And to get Gload back either willie is goin down to timo is getting released.

I can't remember where, but I swore I just read somewhere Timo has an option.

EDIT: Here it is:

Roster maneuvers: With Orlando Hernandez starting for Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday night at Louisville and Damaso Marte also on an injury rehab assignment, the White Sox figure to have a trio of familiar faces back with the team by the end of this week. Left-hander Kevin Walker was sent back to Charlotte following Sunday's 9-8 loss, most likely to be replaced by Damaso Marte Thursday in Cleveland. Bobby Jenks should follow next Monday, when Hernandez returns to face Detroit.

The move involving outfielder/first baseman Ross Gload will be a little trickier. Harris looked to be the logical choice before Crede's recent back problem. But with Timo Perez also having an option remaining, Gload could take the left-handed hitting veteran's spot on the roster after the break.

I don't understand the vitriolic comments towards Kevin Walker--a relief pitcher who has pitched 7 innings on the year, with most of those innings coming in junk time when he couldn't win or lose the game.

agreed, completely. Bajenaru had similar statistics last year, and people are now clamoring for him to get called up. Give walk some time; I don't think you can judge a guy on two stints totalling 7 innings.

Walker is no Cy Young, but I think he might be a serviceable lefty specialist in the Neal Cotts mode. For awhile, Cotts couldn't get anybody out either. I do think Walker is currently overmatched, but hopefully, he'll take the demotion well, refocus and work on a few things which will make him useful come September and next season he can compete for a roster spot.

If he was right-handed he'd never have gotten out of AA. It's one thing to have a spot as a LOOGY on a team that isn't going anywhere, but there's clearly no place for him on the current Sox team.

Shoota:

In fact he did give up leads in two games. One was versus the Angels the other was against the A's wasn't it? (Saturday??)

Walker is gone and as the Tribune points out in a story Harris was observed throwing gloves and shoes into a big box around his locker Sunday which drew a strange look from Ozzie.

In addition to what ON2 had to say, Walker sucks against AAA hitters. Baj has been dominant at AAA for awhile now, and was dominant at AA before that.

Who's next Jenks and Harris?
